First of all I tried to go for lurker after lair, but then he scanned my hydra den so I quickly canceled lurker upgrades and went for spire -> mutas and I deceived him and killed quite a few workers with mutas. I got my 3rd base and lurkers up and fended off his forces.

I don't know, i just keep losing to terran 99% of the time online (in standard macro games) and I always resist the urge to call them noobs for using the same strat (MNM tank vessel etc)

I'm a noob, but I find ZVT exceptionally hard for a newbie, I sometimes 9 pool speedling terran if i see them 14cc / close spawn / bad wall, but i really want to try to beat them in a macro way.

hey dude,

OK, first of all the guy was C- so dont feel too bad about losing to him. I assume you are a true D.

These are my comments as I watch:

1. In 4 player maps, send a drone scout so you can detect early enough what his strategy is (Fast exp, mm, fast tech etc).

2. Your second gas was in my opinion very late. Build a second extractor as soon as you start the lair upgrade.

3. Vs a marine/medic Terran, dont place your 3rd hatch at your natural. You are effectively blocking yourself in. Place it somewhere where he will be forced to scan to check for den/spire or maybe miss it completely.

4. Good attempt on the lurker fake. You clearly caught him with his pants down. Now lets see what happens.

5. OK, although you did get loads of SCV kills you dont know how to micro mutas. This only worked because you faked the lurker. If he knew you wouldnt be able to do anything. So you have 2 options, either improve your muta micro and rely on it, or just go lurker.

6. Ahhhh disaster at 10:20. Although you had a very early evolution chamber you have 0 upgrades, lurker upgrade was VERY late and so you dont have lurkers, plus a ton of minerals which could have been +1 hatchery and a shitload of zerglings.

7. OK you managed to fend him off. That's good. Where is Hive? And what are those minerals/gas doing in your bank... :( Just slap on another 3 hatcheries and pump lings and put an extra chamber. Be a machine!

8. So there we go. You have over 1000 gas, few lurkers, late upgrades and he calmly pushes and thrashes you. Just think what you would do with an extra 2-3 hatcheries + that 1000 gas spent into lurker.
