does anyone played sc after playing sc2? (23775 reads, 62 replies, 2 years ago)
So i was playing sc2, the version without original beta key and somehow i decided to play some bw because i saw the icon in my computer like calling me or something, so somehow i entered iccup and decided to go 1v1 on python.

When it started i felt so weird picking my initial 4 scv (manually) and putting them on the patches, then i remember that theres only 1 gas, the rally point doesnt make scv to automine and that minerals were so much quickly recollected.

Then i realize i was playing sc1, my hand felt very heavy and cold like an old guy suffering arthritis, somehow i couldnt keep up with the micro and macro and my mins were about 1200, i just couldnt keep up with everything as i used to. Even thou it felt weird at the beginning to play it, i really enjoyed the games i played , and found out scbw still has something i am looking for in sc2 but until now i cant find it , that key element made me enjoy those sc1 matches so much i was laughin after beating a protoss player and loosing to a zerg player who had all map.

So i wanna know, have you played sc1 recently at least entered the game to watch replays?, i am wondering how do you guys feel after playing these two great games and comparing them and see if nostalgy take over your soul like it took mine, just wondering.

I played it few times. My timing, macro and everything went down and is really bad compared one month ago. If I have paused the game for a month couldn't be so bad ;( :S

P.S. I still think BW > all. But there is almost nobody playing it now ;( (I mean in my friends and on better skill lvl)

yes and it hasn't hurt me. i threat them as different games which is what obviously everyone should be doing
well, there's one exception, i subconsciously tried to make overlords with S>V but there was no such problem after a game or two

yep, played sc2 for like 8 games. Went 7 wins and lost the last game to banelings. Realized that all the hype on sc2 was for nothing and it will not replace bw.

sc1 and sc2 is like cs 1.6 and source.

yeah because playing only 8 games in the beta for starcraft 2 really makes your opinion valid. Maybe play 500+ and then post an opinion. The game is great.

I have tried, but it wont happen again since I failed.
My 6probes were idling most of time since I had been thinking there is an automine stuff. LOL

#10 you dont even need to play the game to have an opinion, watching vods would be enough.

And that is my statement you cannot change it. You can disagree but you have no right to state my opinion being invalid.

I played SC2 a few times but my PC is way too slow. Then I realized that a real strategy is not about the 3D and high graphics. It's abount tactics, control, dynamics and though most of them are part of SC2 I also find confusion.
Just play a Terran vs Protoss game in SC2 and when the Protoss comes with stalkers, immortals and colossus take a screen shot. I'll bow to you if you can list me all the units that the Protoss has. Now add all the magics / spells and you get the picture.
It's sad though because I'll be switching to Windows 7 and won't be able to play SC1 :( So no SC for me at all.

you can play sc1 at win7 fine.
well you need a good computer that make you play at max graphic with no lag to fully enjoy the game, and to be able to play ur best.

It's so weird to play sc again after sc2. First game I basically forgot to send my workers to mine for like 2-3 rounds because there is no auto mine T_T
I also feels somehow slower in the fights, or that could jsut be me...
