Wrong idea bringing this subject to the euros imo. Their teams suck balls anyway and I enjoy soccer(futbol) but Football is one of the most contact sports in the world and rugby is just a reason to go mental by 50 so STFU stop bashing the sport just cause your terrible at that sport orrrrrrrrrrrrr dont enjoy it. BTW it has the best commericals

let me correct my post... saints vs vikings exciting, (forgot the comma) this boring

i do agree that the saints vs viking game was very exciting

AND YES THE SUPERBOWL IS OVERHYPED, top two teams, most exciting game of the year but more often then not the game is exceptionally boring, and this was one of them, their was very few exciting plays, the onside kick, interception, failed attempt by the saints to get a touch down at the end of the 2nd quarter and the interception... 4 exciting plays... wow what an exciting game... the rest of the game was just football at its highest level, which honestly is quite boring, super bowl 42 anyone?

yeah superbowl wasn't super exciting

if you could get your hands on a replay of the Green Bay Packers vs Arizona Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs of the NFC division of this year, you might have a better time

one of the craziest, high scoring games in playoff history

#3 Your a fucking idiot(Needed to be said). Its between the Colts and Saints. It should be the most exciting game of the year due to its the final game with 2 of the best offense of possibly the whole NFL history. Please hold your thoughts about this subject.

#4 "no padss ofc..." There is a reason why because there is no contact, if there is it's very little and there is more faking in that sport than acting in a movie. I will say rugby would be the only thing that would be anything that would rival American Football. Lets watch players run up and down the field for about 90 minutes, Boring. It's only worth watching when FIFA comes around.

If anyone else would like to argue about American football I can bring up any facts of how much harder they hit(impacts equivalent to a car crash) most athletic people in the world.(Verticals reach 52inch held by Randy Moss , and a 40 yard dash 4.09 held by Darrell Green)

So please everyone who has the chance to watch this game, should watch this game. 2 of the best teams this year with high potential to make it one of the best in History like last years Super Bowl.

actually the most athletic people in the world are rugby players (no pads AND impacts equivalent to a car crash , did you saw a rugby game ? i mean daamn those dudes hit it haaaard) or people competing in decathlon . In rugby you have to run run run even more for 80 minutes (with 10 min break in between the halfs afaik) small amount of breaks in the game , and american football ? whenever some dude is putted on the ground - BREAK ! the game is stopped ... its boring

anyways , the real Football(soccer for yanks) is still better than all of those disciplines :P

Shocker I'd like to say they jog up and down the field and are involved in scrums where they can catch there breath. Anyone can jog... But I did say rugby would be the only sport that would rival american football. And please don't try and say soccer aka "Futbol" is even close of matching either one of those sports... all soccer players do is dribble a ball with there feet. Ohhh but you cant get into contact if you do, you get SHHHZAPPED with a yellow/red card...and btw if there might be some contact of a player, he goes down in a FLOP. Greatest actors outside of hollywood I might add.

How about another fun statistic about a NFL player. Justin Ernest bench press 225pound 51 repetition. His vertical jump 31 inches. His 40 yard dash time was 4.79 seconds and he was all of 6foot 3 inches and weighed 281 pounds.

#27 is absolutely right about this.

Break break break break, damn its boring. And football? They dont even play with their feet.
Real football was invented long before this american-football shit, and THEY call real football soccer? Makes no sense at all.

The american crowd acted like it was some kind of circus.
No passion at all.

And whats with all this ridicilous names? "bears" "patriots" etc ..

Thank god for English Premier League.

"they don't even play with their feet" Ummm they have to play with their feet to kick off, kick field goals and run.

Why is it ridiculous to have a mascot?

They play mostly with their hands.

Im not talking about a mascot, im talking about the name itself
But to question why it's ridicilous is ignorant

The names are the mascots. New England(city) Patriots (mascot)

New York(City) Giants(mascot)

Chicago(City) Bears(Mascot)

I guess the names bring in more revenue maybe. I dunno. I wasnt born when American football was born

Please! Give me "soccer"...pure magic what some guys can do with their feet...and if you say football its 90min running up and down, well, don´t say more cause its obvious you´ve never played in a "kinda" serious football team. What the hell!...GIVE ME NBA!!! GIVE ME RUBY!!!
JUST DON`T GIVE ME COMMERCIALS AND PAUSES THAT TURN A MATCH INTO A NEVERENDING STORY!! -really no patience...it´s like: Well that concert will be awesome (and the band plays a music takes 5minutes break and then returns to stage, all concert long...think it wouldn´t be much interesting)
And btw in football sometimes there´s not contact...there´s just too much contact pay attention specially after 1:12m

American Football as whole is usually quite enjoyable, but if your looking for the most action packed game of the year it most definitely wont be the Superbowl. Teams play to cautiously because they dont want to do anything that might hurt their chance of winning the Superbowl. It is a match up between two of the best teams this year (vikings>saints) . Imo the most enjoyable American Football games to watch are the ones on the collage level. But if you've never watched American Football the Superbowl is a pretty good start i guess, because it probably wont be a massive blow out

Qwakr, you're saying the Superbowl isn't exciting or action packed cause teams play cautiously? If you watched the super bowl there some pretty risky calls that this game extremely exciting. The saints went for it on 4th and goal. The first attempted and successful onside kick that wasn't made in the fourth quarter in super bowl history.

not trying to flame you or anybody. this seems to be a pretty controversial topic. I can say i love football cause i grew up playing it. those flaming football are just simply ignorant. any sport is so much more fun to watch if you actually play it... simple as that.

Highest viewer-rating in american history. 106,7 (or something) million viewers. 1/3 of the entire american public.

Please dont compare football with american football. Its two entirely different sports. Its like comparing tennis with table tennis/ping pong, just because the names sound alike.

dudes grow up and let others love their "sports".
Ordinary im not watching football but superbowl i am always watching and it was fun (watched it with 3 friends). Game was good and u learn fast to like some people from colts "freeney" (hope its right, the defense monster with his injury) and joseph addai with his super touchdown. From Saints Shockey (we called him the viking :D) and reggie bush (like addai a running back).
I personally like defense monsters and running backs.
Im also a fan of soocer and rugby.
But each sport has its strengthes and weaknesses so be polite and tolerant!
Both rugby and football are hard sports.

I would never watch a normal "football" match, but I watched superbowl, not because I like it but just because I was having fun with friends and drinking a lot of beer.

But the whole American commercial thing is a load of BS. Thank god that we don't have 1 min breaks every 3 min. I don't get how Americans can stand watching all those commercials.

what i mean is that FOOTBALL (aka Soccer) is most popular sport ever , i mean everybody know whats going on on the field and stuff, but its definetly not the best in terms of skill ;] (and yes , football players are awesome actors and referee's are mostly MORONS ...)
