Getting aggressive with speedlings ZvsP (10631 reads, 60 replies, 2 years ago)
Recently I have been playing on ICCUP and I have been working on a new aggressive strategy for zerg. As far as I can tell this build is strongest vs fast expand and weakest vs two gate or 1 gate sair, but I believe it is tenable vs all protoss openings.

The build is 9 ol, 9 gas (and keep it), then 8 or 9 pool, save larva and make speed. So pretty much your traditional 9 pool speedling after overlord. You need to scout and keep vision of their ramp, and it doesn`t really matter if they scout this build or not because by then they will be committed to their opening strategy anyway. The best counter by toss, incidentally, is a third cannon or a gate before nexus - as far as I have seen so far anyway.

So traditional protoss counter to this build is to block ramp with probes, but in that case you just have to wait for 12 lings and then kill their two cannons. With a bit of micro you will still have 6+ lings left. If the ramp isn`t blocked you have your choice of strategies - you can run past once you get speed or try to kill the cannons.

The great thing about this build is it really helps you work on ur fundamentals - intensive microing while pumping, but in a simple manner to help build skills. Ofc u will need hatches hotkeyed to 5,6,7 etc. for ease of macroing and try to remember when u switch to drones for whatever reason to set ur rally points back to ur base +_+

Well its not something new, this strategy is often used by good players, It is one of the ways that Mondragon won many ZvP games, also watch some ZvP VODs of JaeDong, i know a lot of games where he just passed by and destroyed main base of Protoss.

Mondragon went 43-1 in the most famous foreigner Starleague over a year ago with this build. Also, the build is pool then gas.

and I have been working on a new aggressive strategy for zerg

Right... I bet you worked really hard coming up with this new strategy.
You're the maestro of threads, Meistro, not build orders.

Note: Btw, how is everything Chill? This may seem as a weird opportunity to take advantage of but I liked to thank you. When I started playing Starcraft two years ago your threads at TL.net really helped me out. This is so off-topic, sorry for the inconvenience.

I am glad you all agree my build is so gosu. Obv. pretty much everything has been done before, but I do not see why that means we should not discuss it. Many zergs never do this and stick to only hatch first builds. Perhaps you could share some builds and strategies with us all, instead of merely finding ways to criticize me? Oh wait, that would take too much effort! Better stick to snidely criticizing ^_^

Also how should zerg who does this build respond to non forge openings by toss?

"This is all good and well, but this isn't your build... "

Then who's is it? Does mondragon have a monopoly on zerg builds? I am sure chojja or yellow did it before him. What is your point? I figured it out myself, not from watching pro reps. I posted it years ago on this forum and everyone here laughed at me and told me it wouldn't work. Now you all laugh at me and tell me "yeah thats obv. its going to work retard". All you people do is point and laugh and let others do ur thinking for you.

This is my build! I made it myself, figured it out myself, and so I will call it my own. It's the Meistro build. The meistro ling ownage build, and its currently terrorizing D protoss' on Iccup. Sup? You can copy it if u want, I won't complain ^_^

The arrogance of Meistro must mean that he truly is the maestro.

I am glad you all agree my build is so gosu.

Do you play Starcraft? Please post some reps of your "gosu strat".

If he has proof of his "gosuness" then I guess I could approve. It's not his build but then again, why even listen to someone who says these days "I have come up with a new build!". I want Meistro to post some of his reps using this build. It wouldn't be too much trouble for us then to see if he knows what he's talking about.

I do this build all the time and it is quite effective though not the 12 lings you talking about, I think that would take to much. Because after those lings I want to make afast mutas and harrass the sh*t out of the protoss so I can make my 3rd expand while I get lurkers at the same time to defend vs mass fast zeals. Which pretty much every protoss makes I have found I believe.

This strategy is quite good if you wanna be super offensive and just harrass the protoss to death and if you get your lings in his base, even better!
I don't "always" do this strat though cause I have found that changing it up is a good thing, I like to change to some muta openings to get that killer harrass going just for time to lurkers/3rd expand...

That is my 2 cents, and plz don't be picking at words because this is a good topic I think, it just kills it...

Hey i've just come with a new idea... what about opening with forge + exp in pvz??? what do u guys think?? its my newest idea!!

K so after that...

If P doesnt FE then--> u need to scout what is he doing, NEVER go for 3rd exp, make 2 hatch bo's or 3 hatch bo's, in case he is going for dt/sair just pump 2 hatch hydra (u have low eco so u won't have time/eco to put up ur 3rd hatch) if he goes some 3 gate push or smth maybe 2/3 hatch muta will be better...

In case he is doing some "crazy" build 3 gates+reaver or w/e try to adapt as good as u can ;P

Ur 1st's lings make a rush by p almost impossible u just need to adapt to what he does :O

"I want Meistro to post some of his reps using this build."

But I do not care what you people want, as you treat me like shit and thus I am not interested in doing the things that you want me to do. That sounds like a gigantic waste of time to me, and afterwards you would all just point and laugh at my mistakes, just like you do on this forum at the moment. So, to your request, I will say no, although I have many reps of this build and it would not be a tremendous amount of work on my part to host them. But if anyone is really interested, come find me on battle.net us-east, I hang in Op NeO)team and if you came to channel and ask for BMOE I will host a rep or two for you.
