UTCG Season 2 - StarCraft Preliminary

So here is it, a brand new season of UTCG (University of Toronto Cyber Games). This year we are separating the games (SC, WC3, and CS) into individual tournaments for more gamers to join and a grander prize pool to give out. The first tournament will be StarCraft and all the information can be found below:

For those of you who have yet to hear about us, we are a UofT funded club called the UTeSC (University of Toronto eSports Club). The first season of UTCG was hosted just over a year ago, which included three games: SC, WC3, and CS. The StarCraft tournament was the most anticipated as many TLers participated to showcase their skills. In the end, our beloved JianFei (former MYM.Iefnaij) was able to take home the grand prize while Paul (ToT)AeriAls) had to settle for second.

Last year we had a 16 people offline tournament in Toronto. A lot of their friends showed up to cheer them on during the preliminary so the internet cafe was packed. A small highlight can be found here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNWi4KA_kNE

The finals hosted about 80 people at the University of Toronto St. George campus. The games were pretty short (BO3) because we had to showcase SC, CS and WC3 all in one go.

This year we are separating each event so there will be more room for people to compete/watch. So we are expanding to offer 32 spots. Moreover, the round of 4 will have BO5 so players can have more chance to strategically play their best both in game and mentally. We also hope that the final will invite more people, especially from UofT. If you are not from UofT, you can also drop by and watch for a small fee of $3, which will cover for your food.
