Chaos I love you so much for being the few that goes:

SC II is not WarCraft III in space, this is StarCraft II in its own right, and it does indeed feel like a natural sequel to StarCraft: Brood War.

Good impressions too.

Great writeup LoC! I agree with on almost every point, and the ones I dont arent that major. I am glad other people are noticing that MBS is not as harmful as other aspects of the game, mainly automine and a few of the pathing issues. My least favorite part of SC2 at Blizzcon was the fact that your units seemed to move for each other, in mineral lines a probe told to leave didnt have any trouble or blocking a ramp with zeos was really annoying because you had to go back to them and make sure you hadnt given anything a move command.

Bah! You bastard Trek, sent me out of the KOTH :) I lost some games to the active gosugamers users and especially a memorable PvP against Zoler. Will start to play more again and hopefully i will even the score when sc2 comes. Very nice writeup on the game BTW

i wonder what ran through blizzard designers brains when they made gas shut down every 30 sec or what?

I mean...wtf ...? How is that in any way inovative ? that doesnt make macro harder, it only slows it down with no reason . A better way to use this method is to make geysers shut down every 5 minutes for 1 minute or something like that. That way is more interesting because you can now care to take the iddle workers and send them to minerals. But every 30 sec is way too annoying and the advantage gained is so small that it doesnt even count.

And ofcourse make it so that players can see a timer so to know when the geysers are shutting down. On a fast paced packed action game players won't care to constantly stare at geysers to see if it is on or off .

ONE QUESTION THOUGH : does the workers mine themselves again when the geyser is on or you have to manually have them do it?

#86 You must do it yourself.
Until now I think about 5 people who played the newest version of SC2 have complained about the gas mechanics being stupid, only 1 guys said it's ok.

yeah our PvP was damn epic! you rushed me and somehow I survived with dt. then you harassed me with that warp in (you put a hidden pylon in my base LOL) and kill my nexus like 3 times (lucky I had my natural) while I attacked your base 24/7 and tried to break it.

I won muhaha

i wonder what ran through blizzard designers brains when they made gas shut down every 30 sec or what?

it shuts down after every 300 gas you fetch, not 30 seconds. And it stays shut down for a set time (don't remember how long, but 30 seconds sounds about right)

it is kinda cool and puts an intereting spin on macro, but it's just too annoying to stay.. it's... simply annoying.

1#you lost to rupbar in koth. mutalisks may be slow and clumbsy but they make up for that with much longer range and beeing more presistable. in my oppinion they seem like a better unit in sc2. 66# rupbar was the other player who made 10 matches in koth (on his second try).

I agree its too short time. If its 30 seconds now (when you have 3 on gas) make it like 2 minutes maybe. Or at least 1 minute...

Thanks for the report LoC

If LoC is amused then Blizzard is on the right track, though some of the new units aren't to my liking.
