a flea a zerg unit? (491 reads, 16 replies)
Hello everybody,
My friend and i were talking one day about how terran and protoss both have cliff jumping units (colossus and reaper) and he said it would be cool if the zerg have some sort of flea.

This may sound silly but it fits with the story line well. 'In many infested command centers, the Queen of Blades found tiny bugs most likely brought by the humans into space. She noticed their ability to jump many times their own height and realized this quite possibly may be a new species for the zerg to infest. So she captured all the fleas and morphed them all (how ever the hell zerg infest things these days) into giant carnivores and keeping their astounding jumping abilities.

These new fleas (what ever blizzard wants to call them) are now about the size of the roach and can jump up and down cliffs with ease.

I think this wouldn't be such a bad idea.

What do you think about this?

#2 the zerg are the only race right now that dont have a cliff jumping unit. its not imba. besides blizzards decides unit stats.

and #1 with blizzards graphics i dont think anything can be cartoony, i think they can make bugs gunny look scary. 0_0.

any why copy protoss and terran units ? there's more fun in the diversity

not to mention that if a dog-sized alien flea has similar abilities to those of a real-life flea it would be able to board a MIR station from Earth's surface in a single jump (if we ignore the role of science here)

#6 i really think the zerg should have SOMETHING that gives them the ability to go up and down cliffs. it would be unfair to them :D.

Not...bad

Hmm...

FACEHUGGERS! faster then a zerg, infest a terran marine or zealot or something, a mini zergling called the zerglingling submerge and slowly morphs into a full fledge zerling?

lol @ the idea from aliens...

If every race has ground units that can bypass cliffs, they're going to have much less strategic importance in sc2. This has been brought up before in reference to P's warp in and Z's nydus worm; if you remove all of these movement resrictions you not only dumb down the strategic aspects of the game but you make it very very easy to end games by removing defensive advantages.

I like the idea of Protoss having 2 cliff crossing units (Stalker and Colossus), Terrans having one (Reaper) and Zerg having none...

It is much about diversity - Protoss gaining much more mobility (Teleporting, cliffcorssing heavy costy crap), Terran gaining more siege abilities (Long range siege tanks, Thrors, invisible bombers and such) and zerg being race which can overmass you with crap from everywhere but having problem with some strategic obstacles such as cliffs...

Instead of make climbing units, i'd like realatively early units with an hability to disable the climbing skill of the other units, such as Ensnare works in sc1.
That gives the two things we want in strategic games, variety and counter tactics.

Dude the whole thing goes wrong in this sentence

The queen of blades was actually human dude she KNOWS about fleas
that's first
and second
Terrans with all of their technology and shit with their advanced methods of healing and shit ... you think that they would not have gotten rid of fleas ?!?!

worms are not even close to any transporting unit, they don't even carry stuff, they just open a dimensional rift and act as an entrance and exit. It's like this: you're chilling safe in your base and the next moment a giant ultra pops up out nowhere, oh and look it brought his friends. before you know it they start trashing your place. now if you have to worry about a giant flea butsexin your scv at the other end of the map at the same time... that's just too much of harassment power

@#14 nice idea but I don't think some snot and goo would affect a giant 30m mechanic arachnid (unless it gets immobilized completely)
