Wraith rush build order (470 reads, 9 replies)
Tried googling it and searching through this forum but I didn't find anything. Just a quick instruction on how to go fast wraith harass against zerg without leaving yourself completely vulnerable would be awesome :)

That depends one what your looking to do. Do you just want to get out a Wraith or two in order to harras Overlords? or do you wanna go mass Wraiths and Mirco them like Mutalisks?

If it's just a basic rush for harras:
9 Supply
11 Barracks
12 Gas
14 Supply
(This is where I go off cause I'm a Zerg)
19 Factory
21 Supply
23 Bunker
25-28 (Really have no clue) Starport
Then build your Wraith

If all in Wraiths:
You pretty much NEED a second gas to be able to do this verse Zerg. An other then that it's the same order as above, just different numbers. Depends a lot on how you expand. If it's 14 CC, or 1 Barracks FE, etc

The thought was making one or two wraiths for harassing. I get the impression they aren't anything worth going for in big numbers.

But yeah, guess it's just a standard fac build and starport asap but it would be welcome with a more specific build after the fac is up. Also perhaps some hints on how to defend the base with lesser rines?

Keep on your ramp, use a bunker, turrets, and wall your ramp off. If you do that build, you should have a Wraith out before the Zerg has Mutalisks, so there is no worry there, and as for hydra he'd be Morphing them, so just build a tank and get up an Academy for Scan.

An you can just Wraith aggressively, I've done it a lot. Bunker rush > FE > Double Port Wraith > Mass M&M. Is extremely hard to beat for most Zerg if done right.

Look around some of Flash's games (I think). I've seen him go mass Wraith against Zerg before I've seen it quite a few times in Progaming.

whoa~ haven't thought of this. i thought only toss go ovie harras with sairs. well maybe you could go same bo with toss early sairs on quick expo. [sorry, don't know much on terran bo ><]

try searching for some of lomo's games on youtube.he uses wraith's quite often in his tvz.

and there's no way you wouldn't be vulnerable to anything, keep that in mind.but walling in should be the thing you are looking for.

You could do a riskier, but faster build. It's risky against a rush, but it can stop a 2 or 3 hatch build and they decide to go for lings when they see you are teching.
It goes like this:
9 Depot
12 Barracks
12 Gas
14 Depot
15 Factory (immediately after Barracks finishes)
When your Barracks finishes, make 5 marines (or more, depends on what Z is doing)
Depot around 21 or something and just make 1 or 2 Starports after your Factory finishes.
At least that's the opening I use in TvP (without the Starports then) and it's a pretty strong opening, but you might have trouble against a 9 pool, but any tech build has trouble against a 9 pool;)

Since as soon as the Z knows what you're doing it's very easy for him to counter you shouldn't make him suspect what you're doing, and this is very hard but I have a trick ;D , I use this strategy as a follow up to a 8 barrack rush, barrack, supply, 2nd supply to wall in,(Z won't suspect because a wall-in is ordinary vs a zergling counter after your rush fails) gas and so on...
If you managed to sneak a scv in a hidden point of a map you can proxy your factory also, so before the wraith Z will have to deal with 2 vultures in his main, if you manage to pull all of this off Z will be in troubles.
