iCCup : High Latency (467 reads, 14 replies)
Hi there GGnet. I'm here today to ask you about a problem that I've recently been facing. I used to be able to make games and have people successfully join on iCCup and play without fault, however recently people can't join my games due to high latency problems, I've tried forwarding the ports asked by iCCup to forward on my router, however that hasn't solved the problem. This is frustrating me due to the fact that every game I seem to join (Such as '1:1 Python D+/C-) I always seem to get someone with like 800 points or 4500 points etc. etc. and it really gets on my nerves when I try to mass games. Could someone please help me find a solution to this problem? Thanks in advanced, Asura(su)

forwarding ur ports has nothing to do with latency lag, its just enables u to have multiple players in ur games, dunno what causes this problem its weird that 1 day ur able to make games without lat then the next day you cant make them anymore.. maybe your connection somehow got weaker or someones trying to steal ur internet, also maybe you have more then 1 comps in your house using the same internet connection and somebody else is using a comp at the same time your trying to play?

I used to be able to create successful games with my parents using their computer at the same time. Just seemed to happen after a reformat that recently went through.

There is a reason why I have a router. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Probably your ISP changed something.
Send a mail and ask them to forward port 6112 UDP and TCP in and out for your IP. The out part is the one that allows you to crate games so they probably closed it because it's also considered somewhat of a security risk.

1. check if the 6112-6119 range is forwarded to the correct ip.
2. even when the ip and everything else is correct, sometimes i can't host games either. i found that saving the settings (even if they are correct and you don't change anything) and restarting the modem works.
