which is the best way to use f2-f3-f4? (274 reads, 14 replies)
hi all... someone knows how progamers (especially toss) uses f2-f3-f4 hotkeys? I usually use only f2 on gates... for make probes I use 0-9-8 hotkeys on nexus but I watched a Much[gm] rep where he didnt hotkey his nexus so I though he uses f2-f3-f4 on them... someone can give me some advice? tnx

after expanding on the nat pro players usually sent relay point to a place in front of the nat; i got no idea what they use the f keys for but i have a notion that the use the f key for this spot.
i personally dont hotkey my exe-nexus for direct hotkey probe production but use the f keys: f2 is the spot where the relay point is set for my units, when i press it i can both see my units and the nat nexus to klick and make probes there,
other f keys i use for the next exe
its great if you get droped for worker slids: select workers, click f3, click on mineral (doenst require clicking on minimap or scrolling to exe minerals, so its way quicker)

i cant reckon anyone that uses the locationkeys tbh.. use 1234567890 instead for locations.. ( ctrl-5 gate, wow it works! )

f2,f3 for my gates (i usually build in 2 spots), f4 for rallied units

Pro-gamer rally point change trick:

F2 on rally point.
F3 on main gateway/rax/fax/hatch clump.

Now click on F3, select a gateway, click on F2, right click on spot, repeat with next gateway in clump, etc. Do all this in a matter of seconds. Easier said than done.

As a Zerg player I dont use the F buttons.

But when I play Protoss or Terran I usually just use the F2 button for stargates, robotics/ starports.

The hotkeys are used for army, barracks, factories and gateways.

Yup, it was Park Tae Min (GoRush, krn Zerg progamer) in ilovestar bnet attack show. He was playing as terran, and was showing off to the 3announcers his gosu rally point change trick with his 10factories...^^
