So apparently this guy really needed a gold, and threw down his bronze on the podium during the medal ceremony. Talk about a sore loser.

The question is I don't really know a lot about wrestling and was wondering if his complaints are justifiable?

Either way doesn't justify slamming on OLYMPIC MEDAL down on the podium, poor fourth place guy would have loved a bronze I bet.

Get ur facts straight...

He threw his medal because he lost the semi final because of a refree making a biased decision, beeing corrupt (ppl talking about bribing, i don't know about that). This have been backed up by alot of professionals inside the swedish wrestling community. The swedish team were also protesting against the decision by the refree. And guy threw that medal as a action of protest.

he did not slam the medal.. jesus, would you read the link you posted yourself.. neither did he threw it, he simply droped the medal down on the mat in a protest to the decision, I kind of understand him he trained alot for this, and a judge ruined his dreams of a final with a wrong decision. but yeah, i wouldn't react that hard if it was me..

#4 that's why you'll never be in a situation like that. iron will and harsh training needed.

Of course you can otherwise they wouldn't have a board to submit protests too.

The corruption deal was something like this if my sources are somewhat correct. He was facing an italian guy and the referee was from the italian populated part of switszerland (or however it's spelled in english) which means he is not italian by nationality but he speaks the language fluently and lives very near it. He is also aparently best friend with the Vice president of the International wresling association (or whatever their name is in english) who just happens to be italian and having a high position in the Italian wrestling association too.

Whetever the ref made a bad call or not I can not say since I am not that in to wrestling but imagine having a finnishswede (there are several towns in Finland where they have swedish as a second mother toungue) as a ref in an Olympic Game semifinals and he is also best friend with someone high up in our wrestling organisation. It obvously seems fishy and really taints the sport.

If the call really was bad then i support Ara to the fullest but he should have threw the medal at the ref instead of just leaving it on the ground.

Yeah I guess that is my question, anyone watch this and see how bad the call was? Was he throwing his hissy fit because he was really cheated or can he just not accept the consequences of actually losing a match?

Yeah the refs are freaking corrupt as hell i was watching a boxing match Uganda vs Italy, the Uganda guy twirled his fingers as a sign that it was rigged, it was so obvious too. And changing softball pitch distance to 43, etc, there are countless unfair things in the Olympics.

And Barack Obama is african.... Yes Ara Abramovic is obviously not a "native" swede anyone should understand that by looking at him or his name. He is still a swedish citizen, I fail hard to see how this is on topic though.

Myllari did not say if he intended to lodge a formal protest over the decision by referee Jean-Marc Petoud of Switzerland, judge Lee Ronald Mackay of Canada, and mat chairman Guillermo Orestes Molina of Cuba.

Acording to the news there is actually 2 bronze medals awarded in wrestling for some reason. Not just in this case but always. I have no idea why though. http://blogg.aftonbladet.se/25027 it's in swedish but my source is swedens biggest news paper.

Technically, if you are born in that country, aren't you native to it? Barack Obama is therefore a native of of the US...and is American...:o...
