A clock is observed. The hour hand is exactly at the minute mark, and the minute hand is six minutes ahead of it. Later, the clock is observed again. This time, the hour hand is exactly on a different minute mark, and the minute hand is seven minutes ahead of it. How much time elapsed between the first and second observations?

Let n be a prime number and n+1 a squarenumber. Prove that n=3 is the only solution.

How can you physically stand behind your friend as he physically stands behind you?

At night they come without being fetched, And by day they are lost without being stolen.

You're at a house party looking at a picture in the hallway of a man. Another man approaches you and says, looking at the picture:

"Brothers and sisters I have none;
that man's father is my father's son."

Who is the man in the picture?

A man is 3/8's of the way across a train bridge, when he hears the whistle of an approaching train behind him. It turns out that he can run in either direction and just barely make it off the bridge before getting hit. If he is running at 15 mph, how fast is the train traveling? Assume the train travels at a constant speed, despite seeing you on the tracks.

s=bridge length
t=time
x=train's speed

5/8*s=15*t
5/8*(x*t)=15*t -- let remove t
5/8*x=15
x=15/(5/8)

x=24mph

Am I Correct?

#1 There is this guy browsing on his forums and he went to check his Personal Messages. When he realized it was 11 PM, he went to sleep.

How many personal messages he received?

#2 There is this man who wants to cross an almost broken bridge. This bridge can only hold up to 180 lbs, any more weight on the bridge will break it and fall.

The man weights 170 lbs and he is carrying 2 objects, one at each hand. Each object weights 6 lbs. How he can walk the bridge without breaking it down? (Don't apply physics.)

#3 I hope im not repeating this one.

You need to take a Lion, a sheep and some grass to the other side of the river. You only have a small boat in which only you and one passenger (or object) may fit. The problem is:

1) The Lion cant be left alone with the sheep, as he eats the sheep.
2) The sheep cant be left alone with the grass, as he eats it.

How can you take all 3 things to the other side of the river?

2. u don't say if he has to cross the bridge with both the objects at a time so he can just carry them by turn .

3. U take the sheep to the other side.
Then u take the grass to the other side and take the sheep back.
Then take the lion to the other side and come back for the sheep.

"that man's father is my father's son." -> my father's son ->himself so he is the father of that man in the pic?
