Battlenet hackers and blizzard (947 reads, 26 replies)
I am seriously pissed off lately. battlenet is full of morons and idiots using hacks regulary. Many zerg players (1 of 5) I met on battlenet public games use exploding larvae exploit giving them extra resources. I can only imagine what other hacks are used (maphacks, drone splitting etc.) They are smart enough to hide economy so hack detection is hard and when I get an idea, it is already late. Terrans use comsat cancel exploit or what it is. SImply....I hate battlenet these days, it is almost impossible to find a nice guy.

I am wondering what is blizzard doing about it. obviously nothing, they have probably better things to focus on, but still. Why there is no possibility to report hacker replay, so blizzard can decide and ban game serial for life. This could at least lower number of hackers. Today they do not risk anything. And if blizzard dont have resources to do it (which I understand), how about to prepare official tool to 3rd party or so, or community to decide whether to ban or not to ban such ID from btnet. I can simply imagine such a tool and I am sure, that a lot of volunteers could put their effort in that activity.

Every user can register on the web and upload his/her replay with hacker. replay obviously should contain both clients btnet ID to avoid name change tricks. I dont think there will be thousands of replays every day. maybe at the beginning, but soon, it will just start to fall down. no idiot has enough money to buy a new license just for few games. And at the end, banning does not to be immediate. Most important is that every replay is considered and eventually solved this way.

I also thought about game clubs, where pc's are shared. This is responsibility of its owners do not let users install hacks and if so, they need to take consequences.

Maybe this is all naiv, but still at least something. I dont know if blizzard is trying to do something on this field in SC2 (or next btnet version), but I hope this could be helpful anyway - new version or not. community can guard the game. without it, i am slowly loosing my patience. I can live with another lose in stats, but i would rather invest my time (game time agaist hacker) somewhere else.

And pls. do not tell me to play ICCUP. a)it does not solve problem of btnet where new players start and b)ICCUP it is in fact illegal gateway.

P.S. antihack maps were already exploited by new hack versions.

from your reactions I see that people settled down and find their ways to "live in the jungle", but i do not have friends to play, nobody in my surroundings plays sc and besides, it is not about me, but about new players - newcomers and they play all together public games!

What about the latest antihack map? I don't think hacks are patched for that one yet.

What do you mean by newcomer? You mean newcomer to games in general? Any one that has played any game for a couple months knows he runs the risk of playing a bunch of hackers if he doesn't play priv games/servers, btw I haven't played any hacker in my last 100 public games, so I don't know what you are talking about.

That is why every FPS gamer uses IRC.

btw that whole 3rd party anti hack thing can be a pain in the ass, and usually hackers still find away around anyway, I know from experience in another game.

I was not talking about in real friends.. I don't know any1 in real who plays SC, too.
I mean about e-friends, from bnet who would play with u. Go find any? Join a clan? Do whatever to find ppl to play with, if you don't know any yet, go find some!:) its so easy :)

Yeah, it's sad and annoying, but i don't think blizzard is gonna fix it.
What can you do? Join a clan, find a nice and friendly one with ur level and play with them, i did and it was a great solution.

Trusting replays uploaded by a user. I hope that is a joke.
    Regular warden updates would help.
And you complain about terran minhack, but I don't think there is one atm.

Rofl why people is saying that if you want to play in a hack-free environment, "go to iccup", LOL! Iccup isn't hack free, sometimes I think theres more hackers there than in B.Net!!... And Iccup's "antihack" DEFINITELY isn't hack-proof... Maphackers, Mineralhackers, Drophackers, Laghackers, they are all there.
