dont really see the point in this thread either, but if the poll was done again i guess id choose "Dont play ladder" seeing as wgt is dead, pgt is dead, and iccup isnt on there :s

I didnt take that poll but I know at the time I would have yelled "HELL NO" to WGT ladder. I am still a very strict fanboy of PGT, that ladder was probably the best one ever. The players were amazing, the ladder admins were good it was just a dope time to play BW. iCCup is cool but its not PGT and neither is WGT.


I think the point of this thread is to be nostalgic for all us old school SC players, remembering when WGT opened their ladder haha. It is really nostalgic cause back then it was like WTF is WGT.... they had no real clan league and shit lol it was hilarious. Not the monster that they are today thats for sure, anyway if you were around then post your memories of PGT. Thats what I got from the OP neway.

No offense man, but you got it all wrong kinda ;D. WGT was around forever before PGT was announced, this poll came up when WGT was about to make their "return" with blizzard as a sponsor and with a brand new "league" system implented on battle.net

Needless to say, the whole thing went down the shitter and the ladder never started ;O


EDIT: Actually, it was even before that. I think WGT launched a beta-season which went pretty well, then the phase between beta and the real launch was huge, and when it was finally done, nothing worked out. So I guess this was before the WGT-beta with Blizzard was launched ;p Because I remember PGT getting hacked (and never returned) somewhere along the lines and suddenly the BW community had no ladder what so ever to play on. Until we were rescued by ICCup :P

I remember when everyone played WGT and there were a few kids who ran around on the GG.net forums talking about PGT. We all thought they were crazy for playing on a different ladder.

One day I was bored so I decided to try it out. There were only a few of us online and we all just kept playing each other. I remember for about 20 minutes I was #1 on the ladder. We must have all been within 500 points of each other since we were all, being horrible players, evenly matched.

Man first time i even got on bnet and joined the Battle.net ladder is when im talkin bout hearing of PGT and WGT. back then we didnt really think about leagues and boxer was just some huge myth...

It's funny the way things have developed since then :-)

- WGT, still sucking & down after all them promises + 2 Blizz patches and LDK
- PGTour, gone for ever
-The Abbyss or ICC never even heard of (invented/made) back then

Not to forget all them web based ladders that came and went in the mean time , Carrier, TL-ladder and others!

What happened to the guy that coded the "anywhere ladder"? I really liked it, if it would have been used as a public-b.net ladder without any bigger ambitions!
It was simple straightforward and so easy to use!
