Diablo III, pay per play, Toughts? (2716 reads, 65 replies)
I was reading the diablo III coverage, when suddently I read this

Pay to play?
- We haven't made the decision on how we're doing the economy. It might be different for each region.

So guys, what do u think about it?

Personally, I hate the idea, I think diablo III isnt mean to be a pay-per-play game, as blizzard said:

"Diablo is a very game to get into, very quick, if you don't have a lot of time to play you can play it in a short time frame. It's a great co-op game. Those are the best reasons. We all play a lot of WoW and it's a great game, but when you just want to kill a short amount of time, it's not one of the best things, it's one of the things Diablo can offer."

So IMHO, if u want to spend short amount of time, u also dont want to spend money on it, (at least not large amounts)

rofl, u what are all those private (illegal) servers on WoW then?
you just dl WoW via some torrent and then play on a private server, u don't ever need to pay, same would be with D3, and that would be only way I woulda play it then ... pay to play is gayest shit ever invented-.-

pay to play is the reason why i don't play WoW and probably never will.

i doubt blizzard will make d3 a pay to play game, because d3 just isn't that type of game and it could hurt their sales..

game developers are always trying to attract new types of customers, like targeting older or younger players etc., blizzard already got everyone who is willing to pay to play hooked on wow, now they will try to aim at people like me.

Think about what you get for p2p.

I've been playing WoW for a few years.. It seriously has the best 'support' I've seen in any game. Not only do Blizzard have hundreds of people employed purely to help you with in-game issues, but they've made hundreds of patches, many of which actually add large amounts of content to the game.

While with any other game (with exception of Starcraft), you would go and pay a lump sum of cash and play it for two days and then it's all over..

#16 of cuz they have a lot of employees for the wow support and they made patches to balance it ... but all this is only cuz they have customers ... they are making billions outta pay to play shit and the greed might sadly extend to d3 aswell ;S

Anyone who's played GW knows that the game always gets new patches once every few weeks or so and it's not even pay-to-play.

Btw since Diablo 3 has single player, lets just disconnect from internet and play LAN together kekeke. I'm sure single players isn't pay-to-play.
