pay to play is morally/ethically wrong. let's say blizz has ~10 mil users on WoW, let's just say 75% of them pays the fee (10$/month?). it is 7,5 x 10^6 x 10 = 7,5 x 10^7 (75 mil/month) usd monthly. the game itself costs around 50$ so 50 x 7,5 mil = 375 mil $. wow lasts for hmmm 4 years now ? let's say that for the first year they had 1/5 of the current users, thats 0,20 x 7,5 = 1,5 mil, so 1,5mil x 10 x 12 = 180 mil $. the rest three years is: 7,5 mil x 10 x 36 = 2700 mil, so 2700000000 $. to summarize: 375 mil for sale of the game (probably even more) + 180 mil + 2700 mil $ ~ 3,2 BILION dollars made on ONE GAME. that's fucking lots of money. even too much, so i think it's morally wrong to require a paying fee for using their game. I know servers cost A LOT too, but what the fuck? old b.net was/is free... and it could also support FUCKING lots of players simultaneously.  |

I swear to god, if blizzard makes d3 a pay to play game, I will go out, buy it, pay to play it, ONCE, hack, and make everyone's lives miserable as shit on it, then once I can't pay anymore because I stopped paying, I will fly down to blizzard headquaters, and burn the game case on their doorstep. |

you just dl WoW via some torrent and then play on a private server, u don't ever need to pay, same would be with D3, and that would be only way I woulda play it then ... pay to play is gayest shit ever invented-.-

tho, there is usualy not just one guy on such a private server, there are a hell lot of players on it (yeah, not as many as on the blizzard servers, not even 5%, but enough to have fun with, tho I would never play it anyways (WoW)).
It's not like a standalone server just for your PC.
And tbh, as soon as u have to pay, this all starts anyways, too many ppl who just don't want to waste their money for a PC game, in such a way (120€++ per year just to waste your life with WoW? NICE!) and they WILL INDEED play on piracy server with hundreds of other ppl, and a WoW won't take '10 million' ppl, or? o,o |
