I'm a C level and increasing zerg player.. trying to play a few games everyday. Currently I am having trouble to determine when and how to attack the protoss army. Do you have any guildelines or tips for when and how to actually engage the protoss "ball"? Adding a replay open for criticism..
I'm at work so watching the replay isn't possible.
But as for me personally, I find that I never lose to a passive or contained Protoss. I tend to lose only when Toss are extremely aggressive and can expand without me being able to do much.
A general ZvP game for me is contain toss, mass expand, wait for them to try and break containment and then counterattack.
in replay you lost many units just running around, trying to get position for attack and some map control.
Your question - there is probably nothing better than your rationality+experience as guide. Only you know your current position in game and you must calculate engaging enemy. Sometimes you can, sometimes you must sacrifice more. Just keep with good flank and some micro, try to get best position you can etc.
btw try earlier defilers, they could have change game in your favor
