its different cause by the time sc1 was released it was a 98 game quality and it have the assimetry between the the three races which it was very rare to find three races so different from each other in a RTS, just imagine what would happen if they would had chosen to delay one more year on releasing SC1 back then, the impact wouldnt be the same, but it will still be very popular thou.

I'm pretty sure December 3rd is wrong date. I went to GameStop close to a month ago, if not more than a month ago, and pre-ordered SC2, payment has not been withdrawn. I think it just way to find out how popular it will be or something like that
Yea i went to a shop and asked for the release date before last christmas and they said it was going to be released in the late february 2008. I asked different shops and they all gave different dates. This rumor is as reliable as nothing.
