Amon Amarth isn't really Viking Metal, it's just Death Metal with Viking lyrics. :)
It's still a good band thou, especially live. Johan Hägg is a good frontman. :]

Yes, I'd probably put Ensiferum among those.
Anyway, I don't know. Calling Amon Amarth Viking Metal feels a bit like calling Manowar Viking Metal to me. To me a "Viking" band sounds a lot more folky. But then again, to classify stuff isn't that important to me - it's just to give people who haven't heard a band a picture of what they sound like, to see if it's interesting to check out. So in that regard calling Amon Amarth Viking isn't too bad anyway, as they probably do appeal to people who likes Viking lyrics! :P

Symphony X, Dream Theater, Tool, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, Megadeth, Killswitch Engage, Pantera, Kalmah, Rammstein, Sevendust, Pain of Salvation, Queensryche, Disturbed, Evergrey, A Perfect Circle.

I've written what i believe to be some quite good metal too, but unfortunately I don't know anyone metal enough in Auckland to withstand it's awesome power.
