Are the armor system going to work like in sc with a armor reducing damage an amount of damage points, or like in wc3 reducing an amount of % of the damage?

Now when the Dark Archon is gone, will we see any other dark magic from the protoss?

I was was woundering that to. They must do a dark templar spellcaster, right? I thout the dark archon was realy cool. Amazing abilities. Instead of removing him i would like to se they just redo him. Like they did with the ghost. Maybe let him keep mindcontrol and feedback (two realyfun and good abilities) and remove maelstrom and give him a dmg spell instead. The dark archon is sutch a fun and good looking unt. Its a shame it isnt used more. The red ball off energie would look kickass in 3d. I realy hate blizzard for not making him.

The archon havent got feet. They said they would remove them lika 1 mounth ago ore something. And I acctually didnt mind the feet very mutch. Not cool but still okey. What i REALY miss is the archons kickass attack from sc1. Now he just points his finger. Not cool at all. Totaly gay

Ivv not seen the high tempelar in SC2. Will High tempelar be replaced or will it be the same. And can 2HT ( if the high templear stay ) become to a ARCHONE? like in SC bw?

to my knowledge, the ht is in the game. still with psi storm, plus with other special abilities. a twilight archon can be formed by two high or dark templars or by one of each.

One important thing that I don't think the Blizzard team seems to be aware of is that every unit doesn't necesarily need to be useful vs all 3 races.

Marines, Vultures, Corsairs, Arbiters, Battlecruisers, countless other units have very integral rules in one particular matchup and rarely see the light of day in others. Other units, like Tanks, Reavers, have very different roles from one matchup to another. Tanks are only a support role TvZ, Reavers are serve only as a midgame harrassment unit PvT. I could go on and on but we all know the drill and I'm not in the mood to write a strategy guide.


2) In Starcraft 1, players would transfer workers from one base to another as, in general, 16 workers at 1 base would mine slower than 8 workers at two bases. This is one of the most important strategic aspects of the game - if this was not true, there would be no reason to move workers to a new base until you are at 100% mining capacity. Has this aspect of the gameplay changed in Starcraft 2?

3) Terran in Starcraft 1 had a very interesting dynamic in that the optimal strategy combatting a Zerg would require large amounts of infantry and science vessels, whereas Protoss would require a large amount of factory units, leading to more diverse gameplay between the two matchups. This dynamic existed in mirror matchups as well - Goliaths, Battlecruisers and Wraiths were very useful in Terran vs Terran, but are rarely seen vs Protoss and Zerg (with the exception of Goliath vs Carrier).

4)Protoss and Zerg also had this trait - Protoss would often need large amounts of Corsairs, Zealots, and Archons to combat Zerg and a large amount of Dragoons, Arbiters, and Carriers to combat Terran, skipping zealots entirely until the speed upgrade is done. Zergs would frequently use Hydralisks vs Protoss, but would always immediately morph them to Lurkers vs Terran until Plague was researched.

For some people this was viewed as a positive aspect of SC, others are frequently disappointed that Terran cannot realistically integrate marines into their strategy vs Protoss and so forth. What style of gameplay is Starcraft 2 looking to attain - will each of the 9 different matchups play in a unique fashion with less viable strategies overall, or is the game looking to ensure that every unit has a useful role against every race?

Both High Templars and Dark Templars are currently thought to be in the game and a new Archon as well, the Twilight Archon, which is a merge of HT and DT.

There already are. The same unit does different damage to different units. It's not specifically diplayed ingame, but it certainly is the case and easily verifiable too.

I would like to ask Blizzard if they are planning on balancing the game in such a way that not only do we see ground vs ground attacks but also in mid-late game - air vs air. Currently (in SC1) the only air to air combats we can observe are in mirror matches such as TvT and ZvZ. Would be fun to see BCs vs Carriers and it to be the right choice for both players not the only one of courise.

Also are you considering on making mine placement and drops easier? SC1 has some luck involved when doing these things (mines won't place or dropships will fail to unload fast due to that center of gravity necessity).

Also I have noticed many questions towards Blizzard and no answers. Any comment?

P.S. The ideas for BWChart / APM / First person reps and the ability to store long string rep filenames are great. And try and make APM for all races equal.

One insanely cool thing blizzard should do is build in a BroodWar mode in SC2, which is exact the SC:BW game but with the SC2 graphics, that would so own =)
Especially if it was networkable together with the original SC:BW so that people with old comps could play with SC:BW and people with newer play with the SC2 engine in the very same game, the same things happening on screen just looking different.
This would also be great since we could continue playing SC:BW while playing SC2 easier ;)

I remembered one thing that is essential and is probably the easiest and yet very helpful option. In starcraft when you play a replay you only watch the ctrls-keys of a single player that can't be changed (unless you watch the rep in multiplayer and change your position - which means you have to have n-1 players join the game before you). Implementing this option will help T players for example observe the terran when watching a game played by the toss.

Another thing that can be fixed is ti make the replay part of the game engine more flexible so it can play replays from older versions. Or if not that, atleast notify us which version the replay was.

#36 I am 99.999999% percent sure that won't happen.
First of all making a 3D game requires a lot of different algorithms and ways of solving problems that vary from 2D. Which means that making a 2D replica of a 3D game is almost the same as making a new game (not to mention that it would cost a lot of time and money and I don't think fans want to wait 1 year minimum and pay $100 additional for SC2).

Damn I'm so good at giving simple yet important advices that I should become a part of the blizzard team :P. Too bad it's in america ^^.
