TvT Building Bare x a Free Drop (376 reads, 9 replies)
(Only for people who think they can learn from everything, no matter it looks rare)

Most of the TvT games are decided by a succesful drop. To get better results try to send first a flying building (like racks or e. bay) to catch the attack atenttion of the turrets or goliaths; and then drop. You will receive less damage.

He means using a science vessel to cast defense matrix on your ships, which is probably better than wasting a perfectly good production facility. Floating buildings in TvT are usually better used to conceal units/turrets/bunkers and prevent your opponent from focus firing on what's underneath.

Its a common thing among terran players, to occasionally send a flying rax/ebay in just before their dropships, to draw turret fire. most terran players already know about this I think~

Yeah on some maps many good players build engineering bay out of enemy sight, then float it.

Or a zerg player will save a muta or two, so when they drop, into heavily defended area, they muta can soak up some damage, before your ovies drop, that way you don't lose any ovies.

Or a lot of times if terran player builds wraith start against protoss for early reaver harass, he might drop later and put the wraith in front of the dropship to soak up damage, so his dropship wont be lost.
