PvZ - arbitors as an addition to sair/reaver. woulda pwn some zerg ass ez... imagine - d-web and stasis half his army - kill ovies (or stasis them) and pwn the ground with reavers : D looks like hella micro involved ; p

sorry LoC for not being too specific, because i just wanted the ppl, who would know any serious use of the 'cloaked reaver' and similar reaver/arbiter combos, to state their thougths..

feel free to lock thread when u wish, i just wanted some feedback on an idea that came up and sry i know i gave no bo at all o_O

(maybe for example expansion and cannon up early game then using overgas for high teching? would not work against terran, i know)

Let's do a quick analysis.

Reavs: Anti-ground powerhouse, slow, fairly gas-expensive.
Shuttles: Adds mobility.
Arbs: Adds mobility, provides a cloaking field, can freeze stuff, insanly gas expensive.

The obvious weakness should be the lack of anti-air. Arbs are so damn gas consuming that adding sairs, or even worse, scouts, simply is too expensive.

Also, in a straight up battle reavers are weak. They need those d-webs (or statis, but dweb is cheaper) to fight off massive ground armies. Or the mobility of speed shuttles (or recall) to do quick raids. Arbiter recall can be exchanged for shuttles, which already are in the equation, and statis can be exchanged for dweb. The cloaking field doesn't do much without any sairs killing ols, or vessels or obs - but I see this most usefull vs zerg.

To sum it up: sairs>arbs. Arbs can be added if you reach a very high number of gases but sairs are more usefull as long as resources is a factor to count with.

yea not much point in ZvP to get arbs unless you have a good way to beat those ovies, because they have tons of them, and if they see your arbiter terminal, they will get speed, and thus counter your arbs cloak ability. Stasis is less effective versus Z than T/P obviously because their units are generally cheaper and more disposable, so the loss of 10lings from a stasis is not much :l. Also why recall the reavers if you have shuttles for them? Not really practical, although it may be fun in some circumstances.

how about staticing (statising) hydras or w/e while they're on ramp and easily killing off an exp ? GREAT tactical advantage ; )

Heh, this gave me an idea...

Hypothetical Situation.

The zerg is hiding his overlords in his base due to a massive corsair attack in mid game. They are all completely grouped around a few spore colonies. Then you stasis the group of overlords. Does the supply they offer stop until they are un-stasised? If it does, it could be a quick way to take out the zergs supply for 2 minutes. And 2 minutes of macro lost, or possible 1-2k minerals to rebuild them can't be good for the zerg.

The stasis brought me something funny: Statising your units to repel a nuke.
