#18, thanks for the input. Intelligent, well formulated and yet simple. I like it!

not...

Care to elaborate on how to get there?

You're so cool

Isn't he though.

Seriously guys elaborate a little.

For instance, in zvz when I go hydra lurk, (usually to try something new) I try to go hydras as late as possible depending on how fast they are rush/teching or whatever.

I start the build off usually with a 9 pool into expo, massing enough lings to counter their lings and stop them from expoing while i do so. After the expo is up I put up a sunken, maybe more if i see they have been building up lings, and i guard my ramp like my life depends on it. I take a gas and go lair and hydra den trying to time my first hydras to pop out a little before there first few mutalisks (which should be delayed by my amount of early zerglings a little bit.)

After this i play defense, relinquishing map control and trying to defend the muta onslaught. Since they have mobility advantage now I can't do much so I mass econ and tech a little. Once I get hydra speed and lurker aspect I make a few lurks, don't need that many versus lings, I push out. Usually I put up a spore or two to at least delay a muta counter attack.

Now my goal is to put them on defense, make them bunker down expo's they took well, and kill anything they took in haste. Slowly massing from this your army can usually win a 1v1 fight, but they still are the ones to choose where and when to fight. This makes getting new expansions very difficult and you have to do so when they are distracted by something, usually your offensives.

The key to getting new expo's usually relies on doing this against them while you expo.

Also, the key to winning fights is to counter well. If they go all mutas from this point, try to tech for defilers/plague/swarm. Queens ensnare can really help too, making their hit and run, hit and oh no I've been chased down and slaughtered.

If they go mass lings make more lurkers, easy peasy.

If they go a good balance, do the same.

And if you want to go hydra lurk as your end game, don't you dare forget upgrades. You want 3/3 Hydras. 3/3 Hydras are gold.

lol. basicly, you can do mass hydra if your oppo does not speedexp. the 4 hatch bo before gas is very effective against fast mutta since you get more units in middlegame. try and get lurks when your eco allows it. but don't move out too early. if your oppo runs over your army when you move out. you're dead^^. there should be some good rev with testie vs mondragon with that bo involved here on GG.net if i am not mistaken.
