Plz test this bo in TvP (648 reads, 8 replies)
I've been struggling with my TvP (2-9 TvP on ICCuo) and after reading some offensive strats I've come up with a bo that works best on reverse temple.

Here it is:

Make wall and proceed as if you are doing 1 fac siege CC, but instead of CC build 1 more fac and a starport. As soon as range finishes, make mines and speed ups. You should ahve about 2 tanks by this time - siege them at your wall. Now, get 4 vults and a dropship and go to toss main.

Lay mines there and try to kill as many probes as you can, at the same time going back to your nat with dship to pick up 2 tanks. This is about time to start your nat CC. Move dship with tanks to his "cliff" and also try to kill as many probes as you can, with dship giving vision. If he comes to your tanks with shuttle full of toss shit, try to save them and safely fly them back to your base. At this time you should have considerable army ready to move out -> push and take your mineral only. If you were successful with your harass, its basically a gg for toss, of course if hes not much better than you ^^

I suggest you guys try it out and report here how was it. After i started using it, i wen 2-1 vs toss and my loss was because the guy was MUCH better than me and owned my push with goon/zeal/dt/shuttles.

What if the toss doesnt FE by that time and instead produces a considerable amount of goons to counter your harass? (because he expects it)

And if he did FE, what if he FE'd on a natural without a cliff besides it

vulture harass is effective due to its speed but if a protoss just blocks up the small entrance to LT with 3 pylons backed by 2 cannons, its so much harder to harass with vultures

February he said a dropship and 4 vults . Meaning drop 4 vults and then drop 2 tanks onto the cliff.. and who takes risky expos on LT on the other nats. Who takes the non cliff ones with no gas.... and gas is important to protoss

this thing has very serious weaknesess
1)it's gas heavy and slow as hell
2)dt tech kill's u quite ez - except if u mine up ur ramp and stuff, but than u loose too much time and delay ur exp for god knows how long
3)standard 2gate, than obs build with range pwns it hard too. his obs will be crouising around ur base by the time ur starport is halfway done, and after seing that+sieged tanks+2 machineshops workin, it's not really hard to guess, is it?
4)i think reaver drop would take this one out quite ez if toss gets few goons more while teching to rvr

old old old old old.i1of the oldest tricks in the "Book" but can be effective.at least i have lost to vult/tank drop.all and all you are desrcibing very basic terran strategy.

thx for the replys guys. No build in SC is perfect.

This one has the element of surprise, because tosses are so used to playing vs 1 fac CC it can work.

As I said, this works only on maps where you can wall off both ur nat and main with 1 wall, like reverse lost temple (perfect wall there for sure) and has a cliff over nat.

I prefer a hardcore 2 fac tanks now though ;) With faking a 1 fac CC ofc ^^

this is pretty good build on reverse t (a bit lame also) but u don't consider the "toss preasure " on your wall factor + he could have obs easily in your main till u get 4 vult AND mines after u did 2 tank + siege mode.

no he can't.. and if he got obs in his main it will be too late since that early observer = 1 gate + robo = 4 goons at the time the drop comes.
