Oh and just as a response to the original purpose of the thread, I think the average pro gamer plays like 12 hours a day, so id say you dont need a whole lot of rest :P

After a workout either its biceps, triceps chest or w/e you shud rest the muscle group for at least 36 hours. As some people said before your muscle fibers wont get time to recover from last workout and you will harass fibers and lose muscle mass.

Please go workout same muscle group 7 days a row, i really dont care to argue this anymore. I work at a gym and know the facts

Recovery time is related to the amount of damage done to the muscles. A light workout requires a diffrent recovery time than a heavy one and different persons have different recovery rates. Something like 48 houres rest might do in general but it's not the whole truth.

The brain is not a muscle, but it exhausts you as one. You need lots of rest (a good nights sleep) to properly use your brain.

And Arnold did use steroids, which increases the recovery rate. He has admitted that himself. More then 72 hours is good for the muscle to rest after a heavy workout.
