American Muscle Cars (3902 reads, 11 replies)
i was always into american muscle cars but lately i began growing alot of interest so i decided to take some mechanic classes to learn how to restore cars etc., right now im looking for an american muscle car that i can buy but theres just so many choices that i have no clue where to begin, for starters id really appreciate it if u posted a pic of your favorite american muscle car with the year, if you really have a good knowledge of this subject pls analyse your car and write the advantages/disadvantages, personally im into smaller american muscle cars like the 70 Chevelle SS but these cars are so fucking hard to come by and are way too expensive

I don't know much about cars, but my dad does. He has a 1979 chevrolet truck (don't know the model) but it used to run on diesel fuel. He completely redid the engine, transmission, cams, everything, put in a locking rear end and a huge engine (456 oldsmobile). It gets horrible gas mileage but can run the 1/4 mile (about 400 meters) in around 13 seconds. It's incredibly fast, I mean scary fast, so fast that you sink back in the seat about 3 or 4 centimeters when you press down all the way on the gas. I'll try to learn some more specifications on it and let you know, if you would be interested.

Oh, and there are old chevelles, nova's, galaxy's, etc., all around where I live. Just move to the states and you can find them pretty much anywhere.

#5 A muscle car is an american car with a big ass engine, from the 60s and 70s ;)
At that time the manufacturers tried to break each other with the fastest, most powerful cars that ever hit the road.
Some of these cars came directly from the racetrack.
Then there was some people like Carrol Shelby who made one step further, if you find for example a Shelby Mustang in mint condition today it will bring BIG dollars.

In my opinion, and my favourite of course, is the Camaro RS/SS 1969 the ultimate machine !!!

Then you have other cars like: Dodge Superbee, Challenger, some freaky Corvettes, Ford Mustang (the GTs) and a whole bunch of others !!!

I myself felt in love with Chevrolet El Camino. Although i love all the 5 generations of this fascinating car, my favourite is El Camino III generation ( 1968–1972).
