ok I'm just posting this because I was disturbed by a 'page 7' of comments... with no comments on. So this is the comment, just to make sure no one else is confused.

Try finding a guy of equal level / slightly better to practice with.
Joining "1v1 noob" games might be very discouraging. Many decent / good players make noob games so they can rape the poor guy that joins the game.

I agree, my first few games were pretty horrible since the "noob" was 150X better than myself.
I also agree that you should play people above your skill; it's the fastest way to learn in my opinion.
#111 The best way how to split workes is : select all and send them on one mineral. Then make workner in CC(nexus...). Workers go to mineral in line A-B-C-D so then select workers B and C and send them on another mineral. If u are fast, u can do this before workeres reaches minerals and they will split automatically so u have exactly on worker on one mineral.

Not to be insulting, but that's narrow minded.
First of all, avoid claiming your own way to be the best. There's a limit to what a split may accomplish, therefore all splits that accomplish as much are good splits.
Yet, your split does not accomplish that 'maximum'. Why? Because when the peons split themselves they need some time to do it. Maybe half a second if performed well but it's still time. Starcraft if all about the details. Though, your way is, admittedly, a very easy one to accomplish a close to perfect split. However, peon splitting is an excellent source of accuracy practice. Simplifying the process would be skipping out on that practice.
Furthermore, trading off results for simplicity as a general mindset might be good if you just want to accomplish as much as possible in one game. But in the long run it will inhibit your growth in speed as well as blind you from the world of details. And as I've said before, Starcraft is details.
Anyway, there is a way of splitting that would require less mouse movements than any other way:
1: Build a worker.
2: Send all four peons to one minerals.
3: Select one or two peons and send them to another mineral.
4: Select one peon and send it to go to yet another mineral.
5: Finally, select the last peon and send it to a free mineral.
The world is full of details, try to uncover them all. You'd be the first!
Ok, my way maybe isnt the fastest, but difference 0,5 sec isnt so much important for my on my skill level(D) and becasuse my workers go to mineral little bit faster (maybe 0,5 sec?? ) i think my way and your way are same fast.
Its good to train woker 1st the select all 4 and click on the most remote mineral patch then one by one guide(only 3 of them cuz the 4 will be on the most remote) them to other mineral patches ^^
