You most likely not making enough SCVs at the start. Sometimes the zerg will rush you really hard, but there will only be 6 zerglings, but you should have 12 SCV and one marine by then, so just attack move ur SCV in front of the marine and keep building marines while you are fighting. You need constantly make SCV, don't stop the whole time, build depot with 8th SCV to pop out, and then make barrack with the 10th SCV that pop out. Don't ever stop making SCVs, until you have like 30 SCVs on one base, lol. |

Hi there,
I read this thread and it's really helpful. Thanks for writing it and thanks to the author of the Building orders thread too. For a long time I have been playing money maps... I have known SC for years now, but haven't played on battlenet so far. Only months ago I realized that playing non-money maps are way more interesting and fun.
This is the first day I played many games with unknown opponents... I have one victory! xD Against 5-6 losses, but what the heck... the only bad thing is, that there were one or two games where I couldn't tell if I'm doing something wrong, because my opponent was simply doing things way more faster and overpowered my lings with his zeals early in the game. Had some minor successes though in some of the games, like I managed to pull an offensive bunkering stunt, destroying the zerg's first exp early in the game. Too bad I messed that up after this, could've won that one.
Anyway, is there a thread like "Looking for mentor/teacher"? I'm looking for someone, who has time to teach me. Haven't decided what race I'll be, but I guess my choice will be zerg or terran. |

Two quick questions for ya.
A little background first, my brothers and I have been playing LAN games for a while. We have been playing on Fast speed since that's what the SP game is on. I have tried a couple of games on Fastest but just don't feel quick enough to micro well (not that I really expected to though  )
1.) Game Spped - When should we up the speed to Fastest?
2.) Initial Resource Gathering - Is it better to:
A.) Click on a worker, right click on mins, click on the next worker, etc.
or
B.) Select all workers, right click on mins, shift+click to deselect a worker, right click on next mins, etc.
I have been using the second method, and my bros have been using the first. I find that it is really difficult to gather my initial mins to set me up for a good BO. I can manage to get all my workers going perfectly on Norm speed (though I can't stand how slow that is), MOST of the time on fast, and almost never on Fastest. I don't know if it's my APM, or just my methods.
Last, I have to say these forums have been the biggest help to our games. We nowhere near good, but we're getting there faster thanks to yall. |
