" We at Blizzard are proud to announce the the sequal to the StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War universe which is titled StarCraft 2: Rise of a New Breed. The project has been incredibly hard to keep secret from the public over the past couple of months. With frequent leaks happening many people were left asking questions.

But the long wait is finally over! The scheduled release date for the US and Korea is May 10th of 2007.

We ran into a lot of problems with the the creation of SC2, but we believe the final product will be a major success. We have implimented many new features including a new user interface system, new scenarios, and new story lines. And ofcourse if you didn't pick this up by the title a new race! Balancing the new race with the others was incredibly difficult and a lot more work than we originally thought it would be. At one point we were thinking about starting from scratch seeing that it seemed too weak versus Protoss and way too strong versus Zerg. However after a lot of tweeking with the new units and new technologies added to the old races we hit perfection.

A lot more surprises will becomming shortly that you can be sure of. We will be announced more detailed reports including screen shots on the game shortly. Sorry for the long wait, but thank you for staying loyal to the StarCraft series.

#3. the release date counts for USA/Korea :/ but u r in bulgaria ;p (and me in germany). so we have to w8 a bit longer ;( I bet it will be translated into german (I hope so ;p), which will take at least 1month, too, at blizzard ;/
