The quarterfinals are only a few hours away and the players has travelled to their hotel a long time ago. We give you our predictions together with GlaiVe's way to the playoffs and an interview.
The last match ended around 23:30, local time, and the tournament continues tomorrow with quarterfinals. It has been a long day for the players, especially for DieSeL and GlaiVe that had to play two tie-breaker rounds to secure their spot in the playoff. The following games will start tomorrow at 10:00 CET:
Playoff Round 1 - 10:00 CET
Fire | < | Insomnia | 0-2 | |||||||||||||||||||||
Prediction: 2-0 to Insomnia due to his routine in big events. Fire was successful with his towers against Duck, will he try the same strategy against a Human player?
DieSeL | < | ToD | 1-2 | |||||||||||||||||||||
Prediction: ToD wins with 2-1. He has stated that he has problems against Night Elf and DieSeL seems in good shape, but it won't be enough to take the French king down. ToD showed confidence in his win over DIDI8 in the group stage.
Grubby | > | GlaiVe | 2-1 | |||||||||||||||||||||
Prediction: The most one-sided game according to us. Grubby is in great shape and not even a 7-foot Swede is going to take him down. 2-0 in favour of Grubby.
DIDI8 | < | SaSe | 0-2 | |||||||||||||||||||||
Prediction: If Grubby vs GlaiVe is the most one-sided game, this sure is the closest game. Even though DIDI8 has won five latest official matches against SaSe this will probably be a nailbiter. SaSe proved great shape going 4-0 in his group. |
We managed to get a hold of GlaiVe, who made a great comeback in his group. He turned a 0-2 record to 2-2 and managed to get the third place in the group. Later on he also managed to take down Zeus with 2-1, and earned a spot in the playoffs. One of the matches he lost in the group stage was against elfittaja, rather surprising one might think.
- I've played against him on the ladder rather often and I have had surprisingly big problems. I knew that he was good but didn't expect to lose with 0-2. In both games I had a very good start but somehow threw it away. I don't know how I managed to do that... well, he mostly was laming around with his gargoyles if I'm going to be honest with you.

0-2 | vs | SaSe | ||||||||||||||||||||||

2-1 | vs | RotterdaM | ||||||||||||||||||||||
2-1 | vs | Zeus |
We suddenly got in to the topic WC3L, where his team verGe were relegated last season and has to play the qualifiers. GlaiVe says that he is happy with the brackets but unhappy with the team's result versus their opponent in the first round - a rather unknown team called "four", which was played at the same time as this tournament. The total score is 2-2 and GlaiVe is going to play the last and deciding game.
- If I lose we are eliminated from the qualifier and we don't even get to play in the loser's bracket, so I feel the that the pressure is on me. On the question if he would leave verGe or not if they don't requalify for WC3L he chose not to comment.
