Poker Tournaments Proliferate in January

After the massive concentration of poker media and top poker stars on the recently completed PokerStars Caribbean Adventure tournament series, the poker world is dispersing around the globe for a variety of tournaments for the rest of January. Spread far and wide, poker players will have their fill of exotic destinations.

Here are some of the current tournaments under way that I hope to do reporting on regarding their main and major events:

• Aussie Millions - Melbourne, Australia - Main Event begins Jan. 23rd along with $100k tourney and high stakes cash game featuring the likes of Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, David Benyamine and many others.
  
• WSOP Circuit Event-Choctaw finishing up the 25th in Durant, Oklahoma.
  
• CAPT Seefeld is current running in Seefeld, Austria, scheduled to finish on the 23rd.
  
• The WPT Southern Poker Championship in Biloxi, Mississippi concluding the 27th.
  
• PokerStars EPT Deauville event starts January 25th in Deauville, France.
  
• LA Poker Classic in Los Angeles, California.
  
• Borgata Winter Classic in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

With tournaments in early February in Venice, Paris, Tunica and Los Angeles, poker players around the globe will have some traveling decisions.

News reports will be forthcoming regarding main event results of most of these tournaments for those that follow tournament poker.
