Mondragon: 'I didn't really adapt to it and got outplayed'
Posted by Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand 1 year ago
First game, what could you have done different?- Well, I don't know, I didn't look the replay yet, but probably I could just have played better!
What were your main priorities in the final battle in the middle?
- I can't even recall the battle anymore. My brain wanted to forget it I think...
Were you surprised by Strelok's game style?
- Only in the winner bracket final, after I knew how he was playing, but since it was pretty new I didn't really adapt to it and got outplayed by its best.
Are you satisfied with second place?
- Not really.
With the events more or less coming to an end this year, will you continue to play actively?
- Depends if more events are coming up. I just know that GSL 2 is coming up and I definitely wanna play this.
“
Since it was pretty new I didn't really adapt to it and got outplayed by its best.”- Administration wise it was very fine, coverage could have been better definitely, the streams worked perfectly and nice moderation (gj Warnix)
The second game, your economy was heavily crippled by effective Irradiate bombing. When Strelok GG:ed in the end, did you feel it could've ended the other way around? Neither of you had that good economy at the time.
- Nah that didn't matter there anymore - The game was over there already... I was rather worried while his first attack against my mutalisks and zerglings.
Alright. How does it feel to play against Strelok? Is his style especially tough for you?
- Every Terran is tough to play against but he's just the best non-Korean Terran right now and apparently deserved to win.
:P mondy will win the next GSL!!! :DD GO MONDY
=( next gsl mondi pwn all ;)
I feel strong man-love for mondragon.
it is SO NICE to have interviews with the players being asked about ceratin moments in the games. you don't see that very often though it's so interesting to read about. good job raistlin!
"he's just the best non-Korean Terran right now" man, r u crazy??? did u forget about Idra????!!! :P
gogo Mondi... Strelok was just too much on fire and in perfect shape atm. But 2nd place is also not bad. :P
#5 Strelok is better than Idra, most would agree, but picking up an American player would be in better interest to Korean league, America probably has most potential sponsors.
agree with #7 Strelok is way better
agree with #7 and #8
agree with #7, #8 and 9#
agree with #7, #8, #9 and #10!
agree with #7 #8 #9 #10 #11
agree with #7 #8 #9 #10 #11 #12
well to put it simply at this point in time strelok>idra but probably around the next gsl it will be reversed (idra being in korea playing 9hours a day etc...) nice for mondy to be so mannered... he's always like that when he reconises true skill... He's been so good for so long personally, of all the foreign players he would've definately made my top 3 for "a possible success in korea"...
agree with #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12, #13
the difference between idra and strelok is that strelok is smart and idra is not hes only faster
agree with #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12, #13, #15 and #16 oh, and also with #14.
agree with #1, #2, #3. are there replays of their game? thanks to raistlin for the info!
