On August 30-31st, 
Xeris[LighT] and 
TT1 hosted CAN-LAN, which they organised themselves as Canada didn't receive a WCG BW spot this year and they wanted to compensate for that fact. Some prizes were given out for preregistering, in order to make the LAN run smoother, but there were far better prizes at stake for the real thing, which was hosted in Montreal at Gamer's World.| CAN-LAN Standings | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I won't address any pointless nationalism and generalisation here but I will clarify the meaningful point that was trying to be made in regards to SCBW LAN success in a country like Canada; Area of Canada: 9,984,670 km² (2nd) Area of Poland: 312,679 km² (69th3) Canada is 32x larger than Poland in terms of area. The landscape for LAN's here are severely hindered as opposed to Europe/Eastern Europe because to go to one can take a major commitment. You can't hop on a train - you have to fly or drive for days (and days). Most players interested know they aren't at the skill level to beat JF and take the $300 and yet even the $300 prize probably wouldn't even cover their travel expenses. They'd have to take vacation time off from work(if it's feasable) or accept they can't go (if they are students). Looking at the participation of a LAN tourney with a $300 prize in a country like Canada is not the best measure of BW dedication in Canada. We have about the same population as Poland and other BW countries - but with a reduced ability to network offline. |

| Yeah 20 people is not bad at all, where I live which is about 6 hour plane ride to the lan and 5/6 day drive we have about 10 active bw players in my city -_- Canada is just really fucking big and its hard to get a lot of people under same roof. Just a neighbouring city to this lan is a day trip drive away thats what u guys need to understand. |

| ROFL PAUL FOR PRES! HEHEHEH Love the lan loved the games GG all <3 JF <3 Oldy <3 Xion <3 and aerials hehe :D! GG all and btw canadians smurfs more than anything and we where once top 4 1;1 and top5 2;2 in PGT time but since there we lost intress and so on...... Canadians players arent active anymore its an old game and we mostly take intresse in CSS , CS 1.6 WoW etc.... and most good players are 18 + ( except JF 16 rofl ! ) so where losing our speed and intress in the game. Look at testie he retired at the age of 23 years old thats 2 years older in korea to retired so gg ! |
