No surprises in group F, Bisu advances

Although IriS, aka berserker, and Pusan are both good older players with a substantial following Bisu had to be the favorite today. He's through to round two and called out July. That would be interesting indeed.

Pusan and IriS put on a bit of a show in the first games. Although there was some evident ring rust they were both impressive compared to the last OSL playday, which was not so great. Bisu then won his first game versus IriS, but got dominated in the second when he was unable to stop the big Terran push. In the third game it was all Bisu though.

Bisu advances to second round.

The games today were great and if you missed them, you might want to watch the VODs when they are released later. Group G on Monday also has a heavy favorite in JangBi, unless Light suddenly can snap out of his current slump. JangBi has pretty much only been losing to the players who are in shape and has done well lately.

I was hoping for Iris. But hey, July will take revenge for him in the name of aggressive players everywhere.

#9 In Ro36, players advancing from the offline preliminaries (24 inc. Iris & Pusan) must play two Bo3's to advance to Ro16 whereas those who drop from the OSL (12 unseeded StarLeaguers from last season, inc. Bisu) only have to play one to advance. So 3 players form one group (12 in total), and the minor leaguers play Bo3, then the winner gets to play Bo3 with the StarLeaguer. Then the group winner joins 4 seeded StarLeaguers from last season (OSL finalists and semi-finalists) in Ro16 along with 11 other group winners.
