'Jim Raynor' about StarCraft II and his career
The actor Robert Clotworthy, tells us in an interview over at Blizzplanet.com, that he is not sure if his character Jim Raynor, the Terran hero from both StarCraft and Brood War will be in the runner up as well.
Since he made the voice of Jim Raynor about ten years ago Robert Clotworthy has done a lot. He has been making a lot of movies, both as voice-over in animated moves and real acting and he has voiced in games such as Tekken 5. Robert talks a lot about the old games and how much he enjoyed the making of it. Doing Jim Raynors voice was something totally new for him, the first time he was the voice of a character in a video game.
Jim is, says Robert, not very different from himself. Even if they do not live the same life, and Robert is maybe a bit more positive they do believe in the same principles.
- He's honest, direct, passionate, doesn't look for trouble but if trouble comes knocking... he won't run away from it, Robert says. But of course, there are a lot of differences too.
- My favorite film is "It's a wonderful life" I don't think Jim Raynor has seen it.
As for Jim Raynor's appearance in StarCraft II Robert says that he has not been contacted by Blizzard, but he would very much like to be.
- It would be a thrill to play Raynor again. I've got ten years more life experience (as does Raynor) and I would love to draw on that. Also, I'm curious to see how Raynor's doing... how's he holding up. I'm sure he's been through some intense shit.

He was actually the voice of Marshall Law in some dialogue segments in Tekken 5. Cool guy, didn't think he was that old, though.
my hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3
jim raynor is like bruce willis
All Hail Jim Raynor!
"I'm sure he's been through some intense shit." kek ^_^;;
Jimmy!!!
Nice news
This is Jimmy. Raynor. ;-)
jim raynor>>> all kick some ass again jim !
Whats the nice news? Blizzard obviously havnt contacted him, are we not to see Raynor in SC2? I wouldnt want that...
#10: I'm quite sure they finish all the work with the units, balance and technical stuff first. And then when they're done they make the campaign.
cool guy ^_^
Would be cool if it would be the same guy voicing Jim Raynor. I don't think Blizzard would take away one of the main SC and SC:BW characters.
Jimmy Raynor ftw!!!
I had always thought the science vessel dude sounded like MR. BURNS in The Simpsons - and now I know why! Harry Shearer voiced him. Impressing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHzKMIShKGk
Robert Clotworthy wow this respect man has a very impressive face. This man must have a bright past with many sexy girls =)
great man, respect
a very cool guy. i love the interview.
"I'm sure he's been through some intense shit." This made my day =))
Raynor is a must in SC2
rly like that guy, and raynor of course. :D <3
funny lastname ;DD but guy is great ^^
kewl guy.
what a cool guy :]
Nice newspiece. I'll see if I can find where it was mentioned, but I do remember the blizzard guys saying they'll work on the single player campaign only after they're happy with the multiplayer, balancing etc.
This is pretty weird, I inserted his name in the imdb database and it seems like they know more then us. 1st of all they say it's confirmed he will be playing raynor in SC II, and second of all, imbd claims that sc will be released in 2008 Release dates for StarCraft II (2008) (VG) advertisement Country Date USA 2008 Did I miss anything? anyway here's the url http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0167139/
It would be quite impossible the continue the story just where they left off without Jim Raynor - and since it's their intention, I don't think how they could leave him out.
Its an interesting point that robert mention... 10 more years of experience... for sure Raynor has change a bit... i hope that Blizz contact him again... I would like to know that Jimmy is in the Right hands of this man..
