ASUS Summer 2006

Summer. What a wonderfull season. No school and nice weather combined with a better half of humanity shedding its clothes bring us the most enjoyable period of the year. Ah, what a young stallion, like I'm sure all of us are, would give to make it last forever. But August inevitabely comes, and with all that Back-To-School google ads on teamliquid, one can not help but feel depressed. However there is hope. There is a bright light in the end of tunnel. No, there is no way to make summer last forever. But there is a way to make your last summer days bigger, better, and simply amazing.

The Cyberfight.ru and ASUS bring us all the better, all the bigger, and all the more awesome ASUS Open. Circa Summer 2006.

Money

So what's new? Well first and foremost more money!
After an incredible turn out last ASUS Cup, which made the game lasted for hours overtime, the StarCraft: Brood War is finally returning in all of it's glory, becoming the official discipline of the event.

1st	23 000 RUB / 860 USD
2nd	17 000 RUB / 635 USD
3rd	12 000 RUB / 450 USD
4th	8 000 RUB / 300 USD
5-6th	5 000 RUB / 190 USD
7-8th	2 500 RUB / 80 USD

75 thousand rubles. That is 25 thousand more then the last time. And that is almost a thousand bucks. Progress? Lets hope it doesn't stop here.

Maps

The maps were shuffled, tossed, assimilated, but after carefull consideration it was agreed to put a WCG Map pool on. On one hand this is a rather boring call, since that would be third tournament in a row only in Russia which features this map pool(ASUS Spring 06 also was played on WCG Map Pool). On the other hand this way the players will be fully prepared and dont have to invent new strategies just a week before the tournament start.

The Date.

The tournament will be held just a short week from now, on August 26th, starting at 11:00 Moscow time. Hurry up foreigners! Its not too late to register!
