American Gamers Championship

[s]event[/s]

The American Gamers Championship is a series of tournaments for American Starcraft players to prove their skills and be recognized in the USA and around the globe. These tournaments are divided into 3 stages: 8 different 32 or 64 man open tournaments, a 32 man round robin from the qualified participants, and the top 16 American gamers in a double elimination. This will be the biggest tournament for Americans after WCG!

A new tournament, The American Gamers Championship (AGC), that spans over 6 weeks has been created to provide the American BW scene with a chance to determine who their best players are. There is a combination of invited players who have already established their skill within the American scene and open tournaments so that the unkown players have a fair chance to prove themselves.

Invited Players:

United States Future[LighT]
United States iD.CocoA-
United States iD.Artosis
United States NerO[TmG]
United States Nyoken[TmG]
United States rS.DAy[9]
United States rS.Tasteless[9]
United States rS.Wisdom[9]
United States rS.yosh
United States SLoG4[TmG]

There will be 8 open tournaments available for any American gamer to participate in. The top 3 from Open Tournaments #1-7, and only the winner of Open Tournament #8 will qualify for a spot in the 32 man round robin. Then there is a 32 man round robin broken down into 4 groups of 8 players. 10 invited players are determined from World Cyber Games USA Championships 2005. The other 22 participants are the people who qualified through the 8 open tournaments. The top 4 from each group of the round robin will advance to stage 3, the final stage. The 16 players will be put into a 16 player double elimination tournament in which the #1 seeds are each in different parts of the brackets, so that they don’t meet until the semi-finals. After all of this we will have a winner who will be, without a doubt, the best in the USA.

The first open tournament is on November 5th at 3pm Eastern in Op AGC on Europe. The full schedule is as follows:
