The Grand Final of the European Poker Tour has always been a special tournament for poker players and fans alike. The Monte-Carlo Casino played host to 665 participants this year with countless top pros making the trip for the illustrious event including the likes of Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonious, and Daniel Negreanu.
Despite all the big name pros in the field, there were no familiar faces at the final table. But the face of Mohsin Charania is one we might be seeing a lot more of in the future, now that his bankroll has been padded with an extra €1,350,000 following his fortunate win.
Every player at the final table found themselves shorter-stacked than usual following a grueling Day 4 that drug on clear through the 50,000/100,000/10,000 level. Only one player, Bernard Guigon, came into the final table with more than 30 big blinds. Charania was near the middle of the pack with 22 big blinds, but looked confident as throughout the day as one by one he watched opponents fall, eventually beating Lucille Cailly in a heads-up match for the win.
