Blizzard Job Openings

[s]blizzard[/s]

Many of you are probably already aware that Blizzard's new smash hit, World of Warcraft, has run into some serious problems. Instead of clearing up, some gamers claim server lag/downtime and bugs have in fact only gotten worse, especially over the last 2 weeks. Most likely directly related to that is one of the largest single job opening announcements in Blizzard's recent history.

They are looking for 1 or more--take a deep breath now:

Public Relations Coordinator
Quality Assurance Assistant Manager
Compatibility Assistant Manager
Senior Server Programmer
Network Operations Manager
Senior Graphics Programmer
Web Designer
Game Programmer
Oracle Database Administrator
Account Services Representative
Foreign Language Game Tester
Game Master

The only question is, how many of those are new jobs, and how many of those are to replace people who were let go over what some are calling a total fiasco?

Also interesting is that nestled in among the server and administrative positions is a Game Programmer destined for Blizzard North. It's been a long time since they finished Lord of Destruction, we'll probably get to find out what they've been cooking up soon, perhaps at E3. This is only speculation though, of course.

For specific information on what each position entails, check out Blizzard.com. If you think you have the stuff, no matter where you live, give it a try. Blizzard no doubt has more than enough money to adequately compensate any kind of travel/moving expenses from anywhere in the world if you're the kind of person they're looking for; after all, you can't put a price tag on talent. Here's hoping that this helps clear up the present issues with World of Warcraft, and will help prevent future occurances.
