As just announced, a new StarLeague will start on February, 9th, being called the iCCup StarLeague and going to be organized by LRM)Game, with the help in the counter-abuse department by iCCup.noOne and JoeKim, and help with the casting by iCCup.Sayle, who casts most of the major events lately.
The whole StarLeague will start on Wednesday, February 9th, with a twenty day long ladder phase where the top 56 players of this ladder phase will advance into the next round, an MSL style four player bracket, divided into fourteen brackets.
Each week a set amount of brackets will be played, set into three weeks of playdays.
Then on March 26th, the round of thirtytwo bracket will be set up and it will begin.
A strict ruleset has been worked out to avoid major problems for both, the players and the organization.
The rules look as the following and sticking to them is very important, since otherwise there are going to be punishments which will make you unable to participate any further in this StarLeague.
| 1* The absolute and most important rule is that LRM)Game holds full discretion over ISL decisions. 2* You must use ICCup Anti-Hack Launcher for every game. All games must be played on maps from the ICCup map pack. 3* All disconnect and leave complaints must be sent in within 48 hours of the game being played. 4* No smurf accounts. Your account must be played with your known ID in it. If you are found out to be smurfing, you will be disqualified and no further participation in the tournament will be allowed. If you are worried about which ID you should use, PM LRM)Game at account LRM)Gayme on iccup.com. If you feel that not smurfing gives you an unfair disadvantage, you must appeal to LRM)Game at account LRM)Gayme on iccup.com. We will then give you a predetermined smurf name. Failure to comply will lead to disqualification. 5* All names must begin with ISL. Ex: ISL-Joekim ISL_NoOne [ISL]Sayle. 6* If you want to make a new name, you must inform us. 7* Stats: You cannot transfer stats. No points on your account can come from an ICCup tournament. If this occurs, you will lose those points and have a deduction. Failure to stop playing in them will have further punishment. 8* In order for previous hackers or abusers to play in ISL, they will need to provide certain things to LRM)Game, iCCup.NoOne, or Joekim which will be handled on a case to case basis if you qualify for the top 56. All discretion for this is held by the ISL Counter Abuse Team. 9* No hacking or abusing. This is very very basic. No multiple or shared accounts. No letting other players on your accounts. No taking free wins from friends. No selling wins. No playing against your own account. If suspected of abuse, failure to comply with ISL staff will result in a disqualification from the tournament. 10* Bad Manner will not be tolerated in the shoutbox at the ICCup team page. 11* No Korean IP addresses. 12* All ladder replays must be saved for your own safety and submitted at the end of the ladder to LRM)Game at account LRM)Gayme on iccup.com |
Besides that, of course the iCCup rules themselves apply since the matches are played on their server and it's also the iCCup StarLeague, afterall.
To sign up for the ladder phase you have to make a new account, starting with ISL (as to be read in the rules) and then join the iCCup Team.
The round of thirtytwo is going to be streamed and be played in a best of three format, with the semi-finals being played in a best of five format and the grandfinale as a best of seven. The winner will also get a streamed showmatch with a prestigious retired StarCraft player, yet to be announced.
Since 56 players would make up for fourteen brackets and that would give only 28 of the needed 32 players, four players are seeded into the round of thirtytwo, without having to play the ladder.
The prizemoney distribution is going to be announced on Wednesday, just when the ladder will start, aswell.
