SKT T1 Head Coach: 'The players are relaxed and ready for the matches'

SK Telecom T1 Head Coach, Park YongWoon reveals ambition and confidence in every word.

How are the preparations for SPL Grand Final going?

- ''After the playoffs I allowed the players to rest, so they are much more relaxed now and can fully concentrate on their matches.''


It's the second time in a row that SKT T1 qualifies for the Grand Final. How does it feel?

- ''I thought that playing consecutive matches from round of 6 playoffs were a problem, by revealing strategies and conditions. I felt we did not show our full strength until now, but we placed first and second in the regular season after I came to SKT T1, so it is a good situation for us. That means somehow we always train for the Grand Final and I know how KT Rolster feel at the moment, moreover because of it. At Gwanganri beach, our players will show their full strength.''


Some say that SKT T1 players are superior to KT Rolster's players but Flash...

- ''That gap is just on a piece of paper, we can think like that if we consider just the players and we can't say we can win the final just by player evaluations. It's also true that KT players beat our players often because they attacked our weaknesses, that's the KT Rolster staff/coaches job.''


Before the Grand Final, it is always a hot topic whether Slayers'BoxeR' will play or not.

- ''I became an e-Sports fan and was into the StarCraft scene ever since I saw his matches, I can understand what the fans are thinking, but I need to be professional as a coach. Boxer could still be in the lineup, but that's not what's important now, what's important is to win the game.''

Last year, you provoked the OZ head coach with some harsh words... (He said if the coach had cut his hair before the 2nd day of the final they'd have won, 2009 was disputed in two days, two matches in each day and SKT T1 won 4-0).

- ''There were two reasons for that: First it was a two days Grand Final so I wanted the fans to expect something for the second match. Secondly, there were several players who visit Gwanganri for the first time, so I needed to show something. But this time the fans did not want it, and our players will do good from their last experience.''


Last words for the fans?

- ''Five years ago SK Telecom started to sponsor the team, back then the game was very popular and there were passionate audiences shouting. We will create even more exciting matches this time around, so please visit and see us live. Also I think we can show the fans what they want if the audience record is broken.''
