Templars of Twilight comes to an end

Christoph "Mondragon" Semke has announced the laydown of Templars of Twilight. After 12 years, the European-based clan calls it a day.Among their list of achievements we find ten BWCL titles, four WGTCL titles and eight iCCup CLan League top 3 placements.
Some of their most influential players throughout the years are Christoph "Mondragon" Semke, Nick "Testie" Perentesis, Fredrik "TreK" Nelson, David "SquaLL" Saez, Eivind "Eriador" Leknes and Sherwin "Yosh" Mahbod.
- "Since ToT never had any real sponsors in terms of cash sponsorships it became harder and harder the more time passed to make members stay or attract new ones because ToT’s reputation was not enough anymore if you can earn a decent amount of money in other clans." writes Mondragon in the closing statement on ToT-Gaming.com.
- "Big eSports organisations launched Brood War squads and after years of trying, MYM finally overtook ToT in leagues and rankings. In the end money always wins – that is the rule of the world. But unlike money, we were friends in ToT. We had the best possible atmosphere a clan can have while still being successful and I do not think that any sponsored clan can ever have such a great atmosphere," writes Mondragon.

Christoph, Nick, David, Rafal, Petra - only to mention a few - have all been professional and easy to work with. With a more financially focused scene today, a constellation such as Templars of Twilight will be most unlikely to see again.
For me, ToT was a team that was bound together by friendship and common interests, not money. I hope that GosuGamers, or me personally, will cross paths with any of the Templars of Twilight players in the upcoming future. For me you will always be ToT, no matter your prefix.
I would also like to give an extra shoutout to Tobias "ZpuX" Nilsson and Fredrik "TreK" Nelson who I've had the priviledge of meeting in real life numerous times. It was always a pleasure to work with you guys, administer tournaments you were in or just to chat and laugh.”

| A sad day indeed. I remember the first player I studied academically was Mondragon (back when Blizzard did replay-of-the-week style articles (pre 1.09) with screenshots and lots of text). Starcraft 2 replays will never touch the ones I've seen from ToT players. They are true artists and we've all stood in awe at one point or another : ) |

| Broodwar is slowly going away more with this happening. It's funny for me to think I was apart of the news/admin side for a few months a while back (but then again, I was working for a lot of teams back then). In that short time, I was speaking with a lot more of the members than I was already in contact with. I was also actually here at GG.net at the time too, working Gosubet and News. If I go back to my shoutcasting days as Micro-Lzuruha and then iTG.Micro or (mYm.Micro-iTG as mYm always wanted it), ToT) players were always there if someone bailed out and I had to quickly find a replacement. I can't count how many times players like inControl, Midian and for a while this crazy polish zerg named Hullah would plead for me to cast any game he played. Dissy was always up to helping me in channels when people would go without waiting for the caster to be ready. I think a couple times, he actually had games restarted for me. ToT) was always about the community, although we won't see the actual team in SC2 I'm sure we'll see some of the previous players dominating in the future. |

| ToT was infact the best foreign bw team and the reason for t to shut down was because of the fact that they couldn't get any sponsors and all the top players were going for the money, But indeed ToT has been the top and my favorite team. Let them be remembered triumph in bw and not a failure in sc2 R.I.P |
