No StarCraft in the WCG game list, WarCraft remains.

Posted by Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand 4 months ago
When the list with the game titles for the grand final of World Cyber Games was announced today, neither StarCraft nor StarCraft 2 were included.

World Cyber Games continues to support WarCraft 3, Counter-Strike as well as the racing game TrackMania Nations Forever and the pool game Carom 3D.

But the game that has been in the WCG stable since its first edition is not included. GosuGamers assumes the committee is debating on whether to have StarCraft or StarCraft 2 in the list of games.

WarCraft 3, with one foot in the grave, has with the continued support from World Cyber Games and the Electronic Sports World Cup, been given another chance to live through 2010.

However, considering the grand final is dated September 28 according to the Los Angeles Convention Center website calendar, setting up a qualifier for StarCraft 2, whose release is predicted to be by mid summer, seems unlikely.

The xbox titles are: Guitar Hero 5, Tekken 6 and Forza Motorsport 3.

petitions ftw? with TL community + GGnet SC community we could easily get over 10k votes for adding SC. Not sure about SC2 because that game isn't even out yet.

this is nothing worth worrying about.

What are they thinking with? Starcraft has the most dedicated gaming commnunity in the world. And there is now a bunch of supporters, old school and newschool because of Starcraft 2. So the numbers that would watch the SC WCG would exceed all others. And still, no SC WCG... stupid people. . .

No one can tell me that the all of the other games are more fanbased (or generally supported like in korea) then sc:bw is, so what are they thinking?!
What we need here is a protest note signed by the chief community sides respectively the community itself to show who we are...damn wcg...

perhaps considering so many Korea starcraft players with too imba micro even can win without good strat support.WCG is supposed to abandent Starcraft and put starcraft2 in.But starcraft2 is still being tested only by small group of players. So maybe we can see starcraft2 in WCG2011.

We may find important tendency for Bliz games: Start > micro. If Bliz is not gonna give up war3,I think there will be a good balance and creative patch coming out within half an year.
