After 37 editions of the ZOTAC StarCraft Cup, we see an end to the weekly 100€ series.While the WarCraft 3 edition of the cups gather masses of the best players out there, the StarCraft cups very seldom reached over 40 players.
The last tournament, edition 37, saw Olf "CloseR" Schmidt defeat Seob Yoon "Yoon" Lee in the grand final. Only 31 players took part.
The ZOTAC administration received quite a lot of critique for not giving out prizes to people outside Europe.
ZOTAC page hint a comeback for StarCraft 2.

| To bad this tour never catched on, or got the coverage it deserved. 100€ / week is actually pretty much, it piles up. Hopefully SC2 can make tours like this more common. |

| i always ask why there is no coverage on big sites like gosugamers ... it was rly a bad bad coverage so i surprised they did it so long ^^ never ever see even a painted table for all current winners like its often was for wc3 xD |

| Hoppadg tours were the best. Zotac was not bad too. But was not very good. Anyway big thx to Zotac admins for their events. |

| Zotac cup would of had alot more players but too many people complained about not being paid. Once 1 gosu players tells all his friends that zotac cup doesnt pay the winners, it leads to a snowball effect, and soon nobody wants anything to do with it, because it's a waste of time. If they would of properly paid all of the winners the rightful money they deserve, then maybe the attendance would of been alot higher, and people wouldnt be fearful of being scammed out of a few hours for nothing. |
