Interview with iCCup's YelloAnt

Always in the center of attention, iCCup is one of best StarCraft ladders out there. This man, YelloAnt is behind it all. Let's find out what he has to tell us.

GosuGamers: Can you explain to us what ICCUP is, how it all started, what games do you support and how much all together are players on servers?

YelloAnt: iCCup is Top world gaming platform with 4 games available right now it's StarCraft, WarCraft, DotA and Counter-Strike. We support only eSport disciplines and looking forward to add some more. The Idea of iCCup has been born after old PGT server was shut down and StarCraft community become inactive and we start loss many great players. Period of horror for SC fans. After some searches i find few peoples who support the idea and we build iCCup step by step involve more and more truly StarCraft fans who spent a lot of own time to help community. At this moment we have 525 793 registered users and 731 391 played games


GosuGamers: Can you tell our audience what are duties you do to make ICCUP better experience and to keep it alive and well?

YelloAnt: I personally take responsibility for iCCup itself, this is take a lot of time but we have so nice peoples in Administrator positions it's great fortune to work with them together. In another hand I need hear voice of the community and do my best to make all users happy, at least most of them ^_^ I trying to move eSport on other level, make it “Real sport” and create best place to practice.

GosuGamers: What are your future plans to improve ICCUP?

YelloAnt: There are a lot of good ideas witch going in far future, but closest plans is open Video section, add some Teach VODs there, add many new thing on site and of course finish DotA section with League, Ladder based on Host bots witch must decrease delay

GosuGamers: What teams are behind all of organization, who is in command of reporting games, fixing server problems, solving players issues and etc.?

YelloAnt: Ohhh, there are a lot of names and if I gonna list them here it will be very long speech. But I cant not mention Unk, leesang, Python_Max, InGhost, CoolFaer, Baddan, PoliceMan, Cheloman, Mai-K and many many others who help us. All iCCup crew works for free just to help gaming community


GosuGamers: Which scene do you think has most potential to become very strong but isn't there yet? DOTA,Starcraft or WAR3?

YelloAnt: In my own opinion DotA become more and more dynamic and interesting to watch. And of course we all wait StarCraft II, will be it best RTS ever or just other imbalanced game hard to say right now. I personally do not like what I see on SCII beta previews. But, will see.

GosuGamers: What are your opinion on Starcraft 2 and will ICCUP support it as ladder?

YelloAnt: We cant say anything before game come out, but if will be possible we will try make ladder for SCII. But again, nothing specific before we can see game mechanic.


GosuGamers: What do you think is needed to do to bring eSports on another level?

YelloAnt: Active community, first of all. Peoples who can do something to change the way eSport exist now. New ideas and a lot of work from the community itself. Nobody cant create perfect gaming world without knowledge of case, this is our own job.


GosuGamers: What do you know about Croatia?

YelloAnt: Croatia it’s a great democratic country with friendly peoples.
