The screens went black
The MSL finals between Jaedong and Flash was played today, but in the middle of the third game everything went black and the game was gone.
It was the third game. The scores were even at 1-1, and it was a very exciting game on Odd Eye. Both players proved that just a small mistake can turn the game around. Jaedong seemed to have an advantage until Flash did an amazingly timed attack at the 1'o clock expansion, and the game seemed to be turning in Flash's favor.
Jaedong did however an amazing job staying alive and rescuing his expansion at 7'o clock with swarms and just a few ultralisks and zerglings preventing a massive army of marines and medics from getting to the expansion.
But before the Jaedong's fight for survival by the lower left expansion was settled the screens went black. Few seconds later the lights went back on and confusion hit everyone. The game was gone.
After discussions among the referees a controversial decision was made. Due to Flash not killing off any drones or doing any sort of harm to Jaedong's economy, and Jaedong managed to kill off some Vessels who would be important to kill the defilers and for irradiating the ultralisks, Jaedong was given the win.
The question is if he really had an advantage? Discussions has it that he didn't, and it was rather Flash that had the advantage of the game. A rematch could maybe have been a better decision.
Jaedong got a massage after the announcement of him winning the game, and got ready for the next game. We're still waiting for the next game to be played, it's currently 2-1 for Jaedong.
It is said that the game is being delayed because Flash's dad is being furious about the decision, and does not let his son continue to play the match.
He was later told by the referee to let the games go on, or else it would end in a forfeit loss for Flash.

As the fourth game begins the rumors are the power outage was due to a problem with the facility's heater.
The fourth game finished fast, mutalisks and zerglings settled the game, as well as the MSL title for Jaedong, though in a very tragic way for Flash. This series will be remembered.
In the post series interview, Jaedong told us how badly he had wanted to get his 5th league win and that he knew it would be an important day.
- "It doesn't feel real yet, but I'm happy. My team and coaches have devoted a lot of time to prepare me for this match. Thanks to my fans for supporting me too."
When Flash was given his turn for input he spoke briefly and calmly.
- "There were many fans here, and I feel I wasn't able to show my best today. I also want to congratulate Jaedong for winning today."
Despite the controversy, Flash handled the situation with poise and respect, proving to all of us that he may be beaten, but he is not broken.

| #23 for guys like you best option would be if they announce 5:0 win for jd after 1st game and maybe that was set up? maybe it was like hey lets turn off power in game 3 if it will be getting too hot then our man between refrees will annouce win for jd favors fuck that |

| #23 he didnt even start his 4th or 5th gas his other 3 gasses were empty and flash had a mineral only both were very poor and ultra was low on life, flash just needed to group macor alittle then he could maybe with a 50/50 chance finish 7 o clock and win the game. it wasnt a deserved free win at all, should been regame after that flash was broken inside and lost 4th game without trying, fucking kespa |
| @23 : I wonder if you were really watching the match ? How can you stupidly say that Jaedong has 95% chance to win this game ? Jaedong has 4 base ? Agreed, but his 4th base at 7oclock don't have any benefit in economy because there have no drone to gather and other base it's nearly deepleted. About Flash, you say that he has only 1 mining base. Agreed too, but his 3rd base was starting and he has a GREAT POSSIBILITY to expand 2 more base at 12o clock. This means that an economic advantage of Jaedong is nothing and it was 50/50 at this moment. After the judges, we all can see that Flash was mentally broken and 4th game he was not as he be usually. Re-game was the best decision at this moment. I don't really think it's unfair for Jaedong at all. We all saw that Flash was containing Jaedong from the beginning, he broke JD's base at 1oclock and make 7oclock base cannot gather. |

| sorry but "broken inside"? well, why didn't Jae broke inside when he was loosing to Fantasy??? why did he, after 2 consequent losses, got himself together and finally won, because he IS the Champion, Flash is just a momentum Challenger, like once was Fantasy. No matter what are the conditions if you ARE stronger , than you ARE stronger, that's it, no more bullshit about "how unfair" bla bla, the games were great, both player tried their best, the best became the winner. |

| what i wrote in another thread: sad day for sc and real competition... i wasnt cheering for anyone in special mb for flash for beeing terran. but i granted the win to the better one.. but this finals were completly trash and a waste of my time. THX MBC for showing us cash is everything and to fuck with the fans that pay you. THX to KespA for showing a non professional behavior in giving wins away just of one player having more bases and more supply/econemy... I loled so hard ;( Zerg has if its a pro player ALWAYS THE BETTER ECO and more bases mb not supply but in the most of the games... Kespa showed imo how good they understand the gam(SC:BW and its gameplay which race has eco supply bases compared to the opponents race)e and the real competition in beeing mannered to replay a game after a crash none of the players to be able to help it...WASNT ANY FAULT OF THE PLAYER SO WHY PUNISH HIM FOR IT?! a short minded decission with a imo not to well planed event fucked up the finals...the whole tour was for nothing. all the players worked their ass's up and MBC or whoever planed this fucked them in the arse by ruining this finals with decission making the booths(wtf was that?!) no live event no big fan crowd etc etc. tbh were is the brain where is the real entertainment for the fan ? WE the fans pay them so DONT FUCK WITH THE FAN. im so pissed/ dissapointed. | #45 well thats the problem, it didnt happen like that accordin to fomos, kespa had NOT the replay at the time the decision was made - and still, every discussion about who would have won is stupid! what if the game would have ended right at the time when flash was destroying two of JD's expos? every fuckin body would have said that Flash won that game ez or 5 minutes earlier when flash failed to kick these expos? u cant judge a game due to some fuckin counts, a game ends when all buildings are destroyed or a player gg's |

| I'm kind of a neutral fan in the way that I LOVE both players about equally. I truely believe that this was a loss/loss situation in the sence that the free win was unfair to Flash but a rematch would have been quite unfair for jaedong (since he did have an advantage). Therefore I think the "most fair" decission would have been to change it from a BO5 into a BO7 a give Jaedong the win. That way his win wouldn't have ment so much but It would still have rewarded him for his (big-small, you be the judge) advantage he had in game 3. This would still suck for Flash but not nearly as much as in a BO5 that way his dad and coach would haven't gone nearly as beserk as thy have now. Flash would then have been able to continue and play at his best. Besides even if he didn't in game 4 he would have been calm again in game 5 and then he would still have a chance to beat Jaedong the fair way. If he then did infact lose both games Jaedong would have been the real victor and he wouldn't have "stolen" (watch the "....") this finals. P.s. for all you people that 'll flame me and say: u stup1dddd ty c4nt chaang3 rulezzzz like that....well no offence guys but Kespa just BROKE the rules in this final. |

| Ret's opinion " I'd just like to say I think the descision Kespa made to award JD the win was the right one. He was playing on a T favored map...in a very very favorable position after having overcome all the imbalances that make this map so hard to play ZvT on. If you put jaedong back at the start of the game it gives flash an advantadge again...So regame is a lot worse than awarding Jaedong a win for a game he would win 99.9% of the time. He was about to get his 5th gas...Flash was outta minerals in about 2 minutes....with no vessels or tanks to fight Ultras. m&m in small numbers would have never broken jaedongs base at 7 o clock. So all in all the only right descision in my opinion. " This sounds very reasonable to me. Rematch would be unfair for Jaedong. What ever decision they made would be unfair but they went with the least unfair one. |
| i honestly don't see how any1 could think Flash coulda won that came. 4 gas vs 2 base terran, that lost all his units and was rallying nothing more then 8 racks into JD's expo. WHICH he couldnt drop with 3 sunken and T3. Not to mention he gave up map control and the inability to expand with that attack at the end aswell, where he lost all of his units. Let's be realistic, JD had the game and as much as it sucks to win like that. It would of been worse had Flash won in a re-game when JD has such an advantage. |

Kespa had a very hard decision to make. Imagine the outrage of asking JD to replay or cancel (?!) that game. The fact is that Kespa had 2 very hard options. I think they picked the right one. |

| I think a rematch would be just the right way to go actually. Stuff like this happens, and MSL should provide us with games that end, because half-done games is not entertainment, and they made that commitment to us when they added hours of commercials to it. If Jaedong had the game, well too bad for him, no one could've seen that coming. I always root for Jaedong, but I still think a rematch would be the way to go. |

NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY . this final is indeed disapointing for everyone , game 3 was going to be anthologic , game 1 and 2 was VERY good . only game 4 sucks . the games was great , the event sucked , MBC sucked , kespa sucked with not asking flash and JD about the decision to make . but dont tell me JD does not deserve to win , its simply WRONG AND BLINDNESS everyone in the world predicted flash win quite easy , even boxer and savior . JD proved with beauty everyone was SUPER WRONG . he IS the real champion . there is no comparison with flash stork bisu or shit anymore . JD is among everyone , just accept it or die . |

| people, flash lost the game, thats why they gave jaedong the win, jaedong owned all of flash's units, flash was mined out of his base and flash only had a small reinforcement that wouldn't of been able to knock down an expo with nydus / sunks / defiler / ultra ling ... so jaedong got the win.. ppl must be mad b/c they lost minerals ^^ |

| #75 its the worst answer i had ever heard,they cant choose the winer based on the map "they lost of conection was othello, give the terran the loss cause its a terran map and he could not kill him in time. they both dropped, was andromeda and tvp, its prottos map, so lets give the terran the win" its "supposed" to be equal for all the 3 races and so, both still can win and loss, maybe 60/40 % for one side, i dont even know what side, but a re match would be the best imo but i have saw many games with a 20/80% side and still the 20% managed to come back thats the most fantastin kind of games i like and almost all like and its not that weird to saw that |

Jaedong won 95% in third game. Flash fanboys just wont realize it. Jaedong raped everything flash had, flash didnt have vessels to irradiate everything, his main was mined out, and jaedong had 5 gas. what can flash do? Nothing. LOL! # 23 jaedong had 4 gas not 5, and after 19 minutes im pretty sure he mined out his first 2 extractors so its 2 or 2.5 gas not 5. Flash did mine out his main but had a fresh base mining so i dont know who is the fanboy here... I dont really know what the odds were but i think they were much higher in flashes favour than everyone here is saying. So yea they are retarded for giving the win to jaedong, and it shuld 100% have been a regame |

| 95% sounds more like "almost 100% chance win for Jaedong" than "it's actually a 5% chance for Flash to win this" which is a chance. I think it was more than that though, but hard to base stuff like this on percentages as there are so many factors that play a big role. |
| As long as JD didn't mismicro his defilers horribly, he was going to win that game like 70-80% of the time. Flash was basically mined out.He HAD to kill that 7 o'clock base, but JD was defending it well. I would definitely prefer a rematch, but Kespa decided to give the win to the most likely winner.. | its starcraft, u cant decide the winner untill someone says gg and leaves. Really cant see advantage to anyone of the gamers, didnt see if jd had defilers on his way there but-and-if he didnt it wouldnt be as much of an advantage for jd as you people scream it was. Really dont care who won this final. I like them both. But a re should have been made on that map. |

| i honestly can say rematch also should not be happened... cuz jaedong have praticed so many times about stragedies and the ways to win in the 3set map. i know giving one point to jaedong for free is so unfair to flash... but rematch is also unfair to jaedong, which breaks all of his stragedies and ways to win which prepared well. i would say if the decision of this final was rematch, then i guess flash gonna take this final... giving one point free to jaedong is suck, and i saw flash already lost concentration in 4set. so, it was already over since 3set was messed up. but, what can we do? this is not kespa's fault. the only problem is mbcgame who didn't take care perfectly of blackout, and that's all. |
