French company invests in ESL/Turtle Entertainment

Posted by Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand 2 years ago
Turtle Entertainment, the company behind Electronic Sports League, has signed with a new venture capital in tough times like these, namely Crédit Agricole Private Equity.

Together with CFP & Founders Investments and EKK, Crédit Agricole Private Equity has now entered as owners in the company Turtle Entertainment, reveals a press release from today.

The press release is filled with quotes from satisfied partners. The CEO of Turtle Entertainment, Jens Hilgers, is positive about the new ownership and reveals that the focus on business outside Europe will increase.

Christian Claussen, Senior Partner in the new part owners of Turtle Entertainment, compares Eletronic Sports League with the football association FIFA and gives his new partners a pat on the back by saying it's "the most successful esport company".

ESL stand behind many successful brands such as Intel Extreme Masters, European Nations Cup and its German flagship ESL Pro Series. They are also part owners in the Chinese esport league PGL.

It will take quite a lot of time until any e-sport company reaches the status of FIFA. But it's good they're trying.

On another note, 'Turtle' entertainment just matches the current dota playstyle so well :D
