StarCraft 2 scheduled for...2010

If you're like me, and by that i mean less than a minute ago you've smashed your gamepad off the wall, you might wanna guess who is to blame for all this.
Some say it's Activision [Blizzard], some say it's hectic release schedule, as nobody wants to see StarCraft II compete against such probable hits as Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Blizzard says it's their inability to get all the features of Battle.net 2.0 up and running in time, personally i blame global warming.
Now on to the news, if you haven't heard it yet. According to multiple media reports, including G4TV, as well as official Activision Blizzard financial report thing, StarCraft II will be released in the first half of 2010.
Now, it's nobody's fault...Meg. Good news is that Dustin Browder and "The Team" have all the time in the world to finish what they've started. Bad news is that we have to wait possibly another 6 months, maybe even longer, sadly for us nerds that means 5-6 more baths until it's out, tough, i know, gotta pull through.
It's worth mentioning, however, that Blizzard hasn't retracted it's earlier statement about Beta beginning this summer, so it's gotta start pretty soon, BlizzCon anyone?...
P.S. They've even managed to upset the "Hell, it's about time" guy...

| i knew it!!, seriously blizzard wtf are you doing in your sc2 worklab, scratching and eating pizza. i have serious doubts about the game now, you are supossed to think since sc2 have 7 years in development it will be a hell of a game but seems to me they have no idea what to do thats why there are so much delays. i have lost all hope and excitement in that game dunno why. and i can see it coming too next year: SC2 delayed for last quarter of 2010, and then SC2 delayed to first quarter of 2011. |
| I rather wait another 6 months and get a good working game than an early release and lots of stuff that is bugged. but maybe thats just me. |
| SC1 forever! I don't care what SC2 is doing, they can't compete with the first one anyway. A simple proof are the delays imo, they can't get it working properly. I enjoy jet another half year without the community being parted!  |
| How could a battle.net delay everything so much. It doesn't matter what magical new features are introduced when the games released. We will all be like "oh this is really cool" but when we really think about it we'll be like. Wait I had to wait extra months just for this, wtf |

Oh thank god. If SCII came out this year I would have missed my exams probably  btw, nobody said anything about the release date before, am I right? They only said that BETA was coming out this summer, so it might still happen. And I guess they really have a lot of work to do on battle.net 2, cause it has to replace the original battle.net, plus it has to replace LAN, since there is gonna be no in the game itself, AND from what I understand they want to make battle.net more of a control center thing with all blizzard games accessible from one application.  We'll see, We'll see..... At least we always have our beloved broodwar. :) |

| The idea of SC2 being released made everyone happy ... in my opinion 7 years of developing should of been more than enough.If this was a primary project(market target)it would of been finished long ago...but i guess making new WoW patches,new sc-bw patches(c`mon,this game doesn`t need anymore patches,it needs money invested in and people will play it ffs),W3TFT patches and so on takes too much time to have something left for SC2 too. I`m hoping that this game won`t be a BIG fiasco when it comes out..they should of released it with LAN support(this is PURE SHIT)and the B.NET 2 as it is and start making patches on the way(they`ll make them anyway,no matter how good their improvements until the release will be so ... )and earn some money but no,they choose to let everyone wait MORE than enough and blaim the global warning for it.Guess i`ll be sticking to the present sc-bw and dota. |

| The whole SC2 hype will explode when they will delay it once more. They cant keep their promises alive. Hell it's about time to get SC2 out ouf our minds. It's not worth hoping that there will be a release announcement the next weeks. This is Activision which doesnt want a comparision of SC2 and MW2, that's all. |
| #4 You do realize that sc2 is pretty much ready and most likely would hit the shelves this year but its gonna be delayed because Battlenet 2.0 isnt ready ~~ not the game itself ~~ also #30 It is possible :) considering that they realeased patch 3.2... so in few months they wil;l release 3.3 which is meant to be the last patch of current expansion :) besides wow is meant to have 3 more expansions i think :P Pity that WoW sucks donkey balls atm :( it was awesome game few years ago tough :( |
| frankly i expected this to happen. calm it down boys it is just a trick blizzard does everytime. We'll all be pissed off by waiting till the game is up, and the first day of release we'll rush to the stores at 5a.m. |
| Why is everybody freaking out? "WC3 battlenet" happens to be the same as BW battle.net, with another skin basicly. They are building a new battle.net from scratch, and I'd rather have it fully finished than it being pushed for an early christmas release and contain bugs and other annoying stuff. |
| WC3 Battle.net is completely different from SCBW b.net, only thing they share is Custom Game module. There was a huge article on that about a month before WC3 release, basically it was brand new, most modern at the time. |
