The time has come for the final community cash prize tournament. {88}iNcontroL and Plexa are proud to announce The Highlander, a 32 player tourney with a winner takes all 500$ prize, hosted with support of Teamliquid.Obviously, a swan song without stars looks more like an intercity pigeon migration, so 28 our of 32 players will be invited professionals. The list includes: Mondragon, ESC.Kolll, mTw-Horror, mTw-Infernal, ESC.Dreiven, ToT)Paranoid(, ToT)ret(, ESC.White-rA, ESC.Strelok, RoX.KIS.Dimaga, RoX.KIS.Advokate, RoX.KIS.Brat_Ok, ToT)Aerials(, ESC.Jianfei, EG.G5, EG.Machine, EG.Louder, EG.Nyoken, IdrA, Castro]Ex[, LRM-Fenix, ToT)Squall(, ESC.Dinot, Archon]Ex[, ToT)Naugrim(, ESC.Mana, ToT)eriador and EG.Lzgamer.
Not all of the "Big Guns" have confirmed participation so far, but there's somewhat of a backup list to fill all the possible blanks.
Now, back to the format. It's quite simple: 28 invited players, 4 players chosen from preliminary qualifications, no loser bracket. Round of 32 and 16 will be played on the weekend of Saturday the 25th. The exact time will be posted the week prior. Round of 8 along with semi's and finals will be played on the weekend of August the 1st. Semi's/finals will be casted with VODs available via Teamliquid.
Nearest round of preliminaries will be hosted on Saturday the 18th @ 21 CET on iCCup. Everybody still willing to register for the event have until Friday, July 17th to do so, up until 23 CET to be specific. In order to do so just PM either {88}iNcontroL or Plexa on TeamLiquid.net.

| It would be lame if the same top players were invited to every foreign tournament. Part of the appeal of the Korean scene is that it is mixed up all the time like when Bisu, FlaSh or Jaedong are knocked out of a tournament. |

| I think you guys fail to realize that this is Inc's money and tournament. Why the hell would he not invite his team-mates to partake in this. Even if he was unbias(which he is in my point of view, i can understand why his teams there, the rest of the names are good as well), there are more than 28 good foreigners from many locations around the world. If you want people to be invited, then making your own tournament is one way of making that happen -_-. Instead of making a list of who should go and w/e, be happy that there's something to watch now(im excited myself to see who wins whether i flukely win or get knocked out first round, replays included :D). GL with the organization of this geoff, I hope it all works out. Btw #11, if Nyoken really tried hard for this, he could easily make it to semi minimum. He's extremely fuckin good, just doesn't make a name for himself publicly. |
