The pre-match favorite jos "ret" de Kroon was able to defeat Dimitry "DIMAGA" Filipchuk in the Grand Finals by a score of 3-1.
After two long days, a winner is crowned. The top Europeans went at it in the tournament area surrounded by some StarCraft enthusiasts, while the DreamArena had a full crowd.
ret was able to take two pretty one-sided games in the beginning of the series, but the excitement was raised as DIMAGA took the third game on Sin Chupung Ryeung. ret eventually took home the win on Destination to be crowned the DreamHack Summer 2009 champion.
ret wins 20,000 SEK, a Tritton AX Pro headsets, a Mionix Saiph 3200 mouse as well as Tritton Earbuds.

| REEET GREAAATT :D His games were great, plus Brat_OK's comments were great also :) And Advoate played awesome, he almost knocked Ret, really he has improved recently. Still saying that he is back would be overstatment i think. Also Dimaga was always in my eyes lackign in every mu but ZvP, now he played really well vs Ret (and prolly not only him) |

| well maybe i m going to say something wrong but ret is entered definitively in the hall of fame of Starcraft. He has already been condidered as one of the best non korean players in 2003 after winning TLT & some wgtour seasons. 7 years after he shows everyone he is still in the top. Imo he is now as famous as those 5 superstars european players : Slayer (99-02), Elky (02-05), Blackman (05-06), Mondragon (06-08) & Draco (07-08). Yeah i know there are tons of others european legends who deserve as much as him (Sven, NTT, FiSheYe, Androide, etc... & more recently Strelok or White-Ra) but in Europe ret is the only old school player who succeeded to reach the top of the modern scene 7 years after! |

| #32 u think u can get away with that? i asked ret today and he said he spend around 4 hours per day with starcraft and at weekends somtimes more (and this is including forum and chatting so not just gaming) the key is being baller , not just mass practising :) |
